New laptop comin on Friday!

Excuse me while I jizz on the forums a little bit. So stoked for this thing. My GFX card died on my desktop and since it was an old AGP mobo I decided to catch up with the times. It's going to be a desktop replacement laptop. Found a great deal on TigerDirect.com for $850 ($2 shipping yo!). I guess they get a few of these every few months and have great deals on them. It's a refurb but I haven't heard anything bad about them ever. It's ppossible that I'll get the 1920x1200 resolution screen. It's advertised at 1440x900 but there's alot of reports of getting the higher res screen. It's random I believe. Going to put Win7 on it AND when it's officially released I get a FREE upgrade, so that's pretty cool. Anyways, just wanted to share Expect to see me back in full force this weekend, been away from TF2 for longer than I liked.

May i suggest you look into rivatuner and laptopvideo2go to get the most out of your graphics card?

Thanks C4ncer, I'll check those out. I don't usually mess with things like that unless I think I have to. If it aint broke don't fix it. We'll see tho.


OH! lol I also went and bought the Crysis gamepack @ Fry's in anticipation. It's what happens when you mix expensive electronics, a credit card, and marijauna.

Laptopvideo2go FTW. Such an improvment over nvidia drivers, at least for mobile use. I've never had a laptop with something that powerful, so I'd experiment with em. Remember, Nvidia now has official drivers for notebooks on its site.

No worries R4z0r, laptopvideo2go is good as they port new nvidia desktop drivers to laptops, which means your not at the mercy of your laptop manufacturer. the most recent drivers from dell for my laptop were made available on 07/01/2008

yeah hellblazer i need to add you on steam at some point because if i do dwell into that area, im going to need some direction. I'm not extremely comfortable with doing that kind of stuff. I mean I can update drivers and all that its just im always worried ill get the wrong ones and mess something up unless im told a specific driver needs an update.
