What is Mediquitte? Mediquitte is being nice to your team Medic, letting him build up his Uber, and thereby furthering your chances of victory. I have only played TF2
for around 2 months, and when I started, I said: "Know what? I'll play
as the Medic, because no one else on pubs has the stones and/or
patience to play Medic! People will love me for it!" After finding the Medic forums here on TF2F, and lurking about quite a bit,
I see a lot of people who seem to know what they're doing, and are very
proficient with a Medic buddy tagging along. However, there are many
people who just don't know what to do with themselves when I choose to
pair up them as a Medic. I have seen far too many of these occasions,
even with my limited amount of experience. A few of the worst offenders
are:
1. Soldiers and Demos who seem to think that they are obliged to
rocket/sticky jump away from me, in the middle of a fight. Leaving
me to haul back to a friendly location, and hope for the best. I know
that you need to get there quickly, but not while leaving me in the
dust. A quick "heads-up," over the mic should help most Medics plan an
escape.
2.
Heavies who stand in the middle of open, unprotected walkways, forcing
me to put total trust into my companions ability to thwart enemy Pyros, Scouts, and Sollies.
Not to say anything about marauding Snipers or Spies. I am not about to
sit with my ass exposed, just to heal one Heavy. Stay where you and I
will recieve less damage, we'll both be better off
3. People who think spamming the "call Medic," button will get me to
escort them. If you aren't hurt, piss off. If you are hurt, stop moving
and I'll get to you. It's not helpful, just annoying.
4. Players (mainly Heavies, Pyros, and Sollies)
who get all offended if I so much as heal another teammate. I am not
here to baby one player, I am here to keep as many of my team as I can
alive
5. People (again, mainly Pyros, Heavies, and Sollies) who seem to blame me for an ineffective Uber. Look, shit happens, if I am about to be blown into tiny, tiny, fragments, I'm popping the Uber. You may have not gotten the 6 kills you were hoping for, but you and I are still alive with one or two guaranteed kills.
6. Teammates (Scouts, Spies, Snipers) who believe that they are the
single most important person on the team, and harass me if I let them
die while healing someone else. Scouts are not exactly on my "heal immediately," list. Hierarchy rules, and I'll try to get to you, but I have other jobs to do.
And finally...
7. Pyros who don't Spy-check. Please, for the love of all that is Holy,
Spy-check! Medics are usually very high up on most Spies hit list, and
if we can't help you because of a Spy, that's your fault. Besides, it
raises our blood pressure when a Spy waits until we have an Uber ready,
to knife us
Rant over. Now, I realise that many of you have prior experience with a Medic, and are probably sneering at my statements. I KNOW THAT THIS APPLIES TO NO ONE ON TF2F *sarcasm* But I have seen too many instances of these to just sit back and let them happen. Hope this is helpful, both to Medics and anyone else browsing the Medic class forum.
WOOT WOOT! Extras!
8. If you are not getting the job done, I am not going to uber you. I
like to pay attention to who is doing well on the scoreboard. (StickyBomba)
9. Don't complain to me about switching off of medic when the team consists of 2 scouts, 2 snipers, 2 spies, and a pyro.

The people who need to read this don't come on this forum to read it unfortunately.

But it is, nonetheless, a nifty and concise guide that lays out the basics for what a team must do for their medic to operate efficiently and effectively. Maybe go post it on the Steam forums.

Here's my list:
1. Medics who heal bottom scorers while I'm dying, then complain that I was being too babyish.

I can't remember the last time i was backstabbed by someone who wasn't a squig, and even that happens rarely. You don't need a pyro, just common sense. 9. Don't complain to me about switching off of medic when the team consists of 2 scouts, 2 snipers, 2 spies, and a pyro.

Don't not heal me on purpose and when I yell over vent say I'm taking the game to seriously.

It has nothing to do with common sense if you're already engaged in battle and a spy gets you while you're focused on something else. I agree with this guide, though. I always hated it when I was low on health and a medic refused to heal me because he was too focused on keeping the heavy overhealed, even before we hit combat. I think that is the most aggravating thing, because it helps both of you more when the medic doesn't hit one class only. Unfortunately, that happens in a lot of pub games.

It takes skill to multi-heal in the thick of heavy combat, especially when people are running off in different direction in order to find cover or to counterattack. Dropping your heal leash and locking on to a different target can be difficult at times. Spies and Snipers especially like to take advantage of these moments to frak your Medic.
Protect your Medic. They'll protect you back. If you're the guy who gets the Scout off my ass or intercepts the Spy heading for my high priority backside, you're my #1 heal priority.
But yeah, you guys know all this. Like Cold said, the folks who need to be illuminated the most about the Care And Feeding Of Medics are the the folks least likely to read the thread.
Medics are the soft target on any team, you take one out, you win the next 2 minutes of the match.
