Yeah, in some days I'll play my first scrim with some friends and as a medic I'm trying to learn some strategies on popular maps like granary and fastlane and also some tips to go better

I was thinking if you could help me

I'm not sure but I think the lane of the other team is 2 pyros 1 scout 1 medic 1 demo 1 soldier (lol)

I need to find a way to counter those pyros in close spaces like granary point 2 and 3 (?)

we're going on the popular 2 scouts 2 soldiers 1 demo 1 medic

and should I stick with only 1 soldier (or demo) and heal the other when they come to me or should we go as a block and let the scouts go free

Who should I priorize on healing?

sorry, I know theses questions were already answered a thousand times but it's our first scrim and we want to start winning

PS: sorry for my english, I'm brazillian

Always try to keep everyone buffed.
And make sure that you try to stay alive, even at the cost of teammates. You are the most important team member, and if you die the enemy team will be at a big atvantage if they still have a medic up.

I'll recommend some demos from top medics.

This demo is from pure, who I think is the second best medic behind TheFragile of Pandemic.

http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/demos/25592/

In general, try to nab some "HLTV" demos from http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/demos/ because with sourceTV demos you can switch perspectives.. really any medic on any of the teams posted there would give you some good ideas.

It's hard to put into words, it's all a learning experience.. but some demos can give you some good ideas about positioning and so on.

In general, you will stick with your "pocket soldier".. we'll he'll stick with you. =]

Let others COME to you.. do not put yourself in danger. Really, if comes down to not only you being able to dance and dodge.. but also your pocket solder and even the other soldier keeping the baddies away from you.
The team must protect the medic.

hmm cool, I think I'll have to remember them this important topic lol

and I need to train with my pocket soldier, there's a brazillian medic who can use awesomely their soldier as a meat shield (he even jump when the soldier jump) I've never seen something like this, he  always put the soldiers between he and the other attacker. I wish I could do that

but any ideas on how to counter 2 pyros?

if all my team became on fire it'll take a long time to heal them all, so I was thinking in something more effective not in open spaces but in tight spaces

The other team isn't very good but our team never played together on 6x6 so we need to start practicing

thanks for the tips

I may be dead wrong about this, but if you get caught by one pyro in close combat your best bet is probably just pulling out the blut ASAP and getting good at aiming that. You don't have the health to combat pyro's that surprise/get to you in close range, so its probably better just to make sure that your never alone.....but if something like that does happen work with the blutsauger.

That's really all you can do against pyros.  Just remember that positioning is always the key to success.  Try to hid behind you teammates and let them take all the hits.  If you get good at managing damage taken it will do you wonders to keep you alive and build uber faster.

Oh man, today were the first time we played together. We sat up a warm-up agains some random players, I think we did well, I only need to train more with my pocket soldier

I died 4 times in 6 rounds and we won 6x0 in gravepit

My record was 15k pts healed in one life but in the end, I discovered that we don't know how to attack control point A in gravepit

We decided to rush B first and we capped it very fast, but the defense went to A and it was very hard to cap. It's so open and then they saw us coming everytime

but in the end we won

thanks for the tips

Move! Especially now with the Scout update. If you zig zag a little (especially over the bridge on 2fort) then it's hard for snipers to take you out. There's nothing more depressing than watching a medic just stand around taking damage when he should be hiding or moving.

Run a heavy every once in a while if you are allowed to switch classes. It won't be expected and therefor very effective.

If their medic is very good at building up ubers and kritcreigs, send out a spy or a sniper to get him. Only use them when effective, granary isn't the best map for snipers, but it's great for spy.

Don't be afraid to do the unexpected. An engineer and a well placed sentry can give you enough of an edge to push up, or keep them from pushing.

In other words, don't stick to the normal. Normal is easy to predict, and that's a bad thing. Do things that are unexpected at times. Don't stick with the traditional class makeup.

Honestly I think all pugs should be highlander IMO.

EDIT: woah, didn't notice it was a necro. Either way, I'm leaving this up.
