This is Mar jacking Tar's account.

I bought an Ipod touch around March April of 2008.   About 3 weeks ago, right before Halloween, the ear-buds that came with them broke from tremendous wear and tear.

I always had the ear-buds tightly wrapped around the Itouch and I'd leave them in the cup holder of my moms car, on my desk, or in my pocket.  When the broke the part that connects the ear-buds to the touch had ripped, the buds themselves had fallen of and had been held by a wire.  2 months before they broke the plastic lining began to tear and peel off the ear-buds.

So I need a new pair of ear buds that will function as.

1. Ear-buds to listen to my Ipod and Itunes
2.  Since my turtle beach X1 headphones w/ mic are broke  I will use the ear-buds as the head set part, and my awesome built in XPS mic as a mic.

How they should perform headphones to do

1. Be durable, extremely durable.  I don't want them to break in half a year.
2. Really good sound quality, but not to compromise the durability of the ear buds

Also MONEY IS NOT A ISSUE

So any suggestion or recommendations any one?

Skullcandy, perfect sound, and can stand being wrapped around an itouch. I would say the FMJ if you've got the cash.

Dont pay 50$ for something that will hurt your ear AND sound bad.

Okay, if you want sound quality at a replaceable price (if they do end up breaking), get the Creative EP-630 IEM (In ear Module).
If you prefer the "Y" style cord a bit more (having one side longer than the other in order to drape around the back of your neck, you can look at the Sennheiser CX-300 IEM. They are the same headphone, just rebranded.

For the price, they are some of the best earbuds you can get. The cord is a little flimsy it seems, but I've owned one pair for the Creative for over a year now of constant use, and just recently got a pair of the sennheiser for my girlfriend and she loves them.

Slight derailment since madrox pretty much answered this thread: do you guys prefer the earbuds that wrap behind your head or the classic ones? I'm also getting new ones soon and I don't know which to get.

Carinth speaks the truth.
Kankle lies.

Anyway, yea, skullcandy are the way to go. Way durable, great sound quality, awesome and wicked sick, and if you break them, they'll send you another pair just like that. Every earphone has a lifetime limited warranty. I've got the smokin' buds.
I basically wrote a review for them in computergeniusman's thread a bit back, I'll see if I can find it.

If money isn't an issue look into the mutli-drivered earbuds that go for like 300+$. Otherwise, check out the creatives/sennheisers. They have slightly better highs and mids than to most of the skullcandy reviews i've seen. Never used the skullcandys myself.
