Are pipes on the consoles nerfed?

Just a question I thought I'd throw out there. Over time I've noticed that pipes do very miniscule damage. Oftentimes I'll have to hit three pipes on a light class just to kill them, when I see it mentioned around here often that it's possible to kill in one. Perfect example of how underpowered pipes seem on the consoles:
I was playing demo on dustbowl three, cap two, final bend. I jumped up onto the ledge on the left, heard a sentry around the corner, launched some stickies and destroyed it. Then the engie comes around the corner with the wrench out. I pull out pipes and backpedal, managing to hit him with four pipes and then dying to a crit wrench hit. And I wonder, how can this be if pipes can do more than 125 damage in a hit?

It can't.
Unless there's a pipe buff on the PC that happened like....over a year ago...
Something is wrong with your vision/console/memory.

Yeah, I'm trying. I know my memory isn't failing me, this happens a lot, although the four-pipes incident was a one-time thing.

The pipes must have been missing slightly and not doing full damage or else he grabbed some life on the way, because I play Xbox and not even a soldier can survive four direct hits with a pipe bomb.

I hate the engie wrench. I'll be playing scout and if an engie touches me with his wrench, I die in one hit.
