Auto Rescope??

I've been playing as pyro and scout for awhile, and i've decided i want to start playing as a class much more strategic, and when i saw Durban refer to playing sniper in TF2 being like playing chess, i knew i wanted to start playing sniper..So i'm wondering.. Should i check Auto-Rescope in the Advanced Multiplayer Options or not?

Its up to personal preference, but I would advise against it.  You really don't want to be in the same place after you kill someone, and the time it takes to rescope and unscope can easily kill you.  If you have it checked, fire off a shot, and notice a Spy behind you while you're setting a new cartridge (can some gun nut tell me the correct term please?), the rescope will happen anyway and it will take that much longer to respond to the Spy.

Sniper like chess? Well that's a bit of a stretch.

I keep auto rescope off, if you want to rescope it's not exactly hard to do so manually.

I turned it off, and I don't understand why it's on by default. It can get you into plenty of bad situations...make you lose your one chance...

I have auto rescope on.
Its nice because you can cancel it by right clicking after your shot.
