On one hand, that extra 50 health could be very useful, and crits from behind is nothing to sneeze at, but the Compressed Air is really awesome. Standing in front of a Soldier as he attempts to hit me with several rockets only to have to dodge them himself is incredibly fun.

What's your opinion?

Definitely the BackBurner, i mean 50+ health and Crits from behind, that's like a spy with 225 health and backstab.  And the new axe is really powerful, one flare followed by an axe will kill a full health solly.

Edit: After playing around with the Compressor, It definitely has its uses.  Its quite effective against rockets but will also reflect stickies, pipes and other pyros flares well.

Depending on how you play.

If your really sneaky, the backburner is GG.

If you wanna play more defense and be with the front push, go with the air blast.

QFT.

Pyros are going to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO defensive if played correctly now.

I think it's too early to tell. I for one haven't quite gotten used to the new pyro changes.

I have to admit, after last night, a good defensive pyro drastically changes the approach on some choke points.  To wit, last night on a different pub (I was not the pyro, I was one of the engi's), the second map/second point of dustbowl was effectively held with 2 engi guns and 2 pyros against all comers.  Demo stickies/nades/rockets?  Blown away by the pyros.  Ubers dropping from the ledge to get the guns, popped up by the air blast and the guns carried them away.

In the end, the swing point was 2 spies and a sniper cracked it open (one pyro head shot, other backstabbed, both with 15+ second respawn timers), the rest of the classes couldn't seem to get anything running, simply from 2x air blast with 2 dispensers feeding the pyros.  It actually forced coordination from more than 2-3 people.  Good times.  Engi+pyro is so much stronger now, it's scary.

For me, definetly the upgraded flamer. Air blast is just so versatile, from easily defeating soldiers, demos, and others pyros to easily blocking an uber or a capture. Its got so many uses in so many situations.

I use the upgraded when doing more attacking, and the basic for defending.

From my experience with the air, it was ineffective. It can't push enemies that are ubered very far...
