Backstabbing without ever using a disguise

I wanted to prove a point.

I was on the Slaughterhouse instant respawn server and played an entire round on Steel on Blue without ever using the disguise kit. It went pretty well considering.

Main reasons to use a disguise:

Sentry Shield.

To blend in with unaware players.

Note: My in-game name is Inglorious-Bastard. I got tired of using Vince2501 for a while.

I always thought disguises will only fool an experienced player for about 1-2 seconds. I'm not really that good at spy in practice but I know the basics well enough. Don't ever rely on your disguises. Rely on your cloak,height advantage and Revolver aim. Oh and be smart really only smart people who can analyze a situation can play a spy well. Also Patience.

Thought I'm just speaking what I've learned not what I can actually do in practice. I can't do a height advantage stab well at all.

The only nice thing for disguises is sentry defence, and the fact that people just flicking around, or seeing you at the corner of their screen usually wont realise until hopefully its too late. Ive had many times when ive turned around, saw someone, turned back then realised just too late it was a spy

I spent a good 10 minutes of a game on granary simply running through my enemy's base being stealthy, because I can. But the point still stands. I'll watch the vid when I can.

I still stand by my belief that disguises, although hardly reliable by ANY means, do help with more than just being a sentry shield. I've had experienced enemy medics (*cough* Kankle *cough*) heal me when disguised, only to use that medibuff to take them down easier. It also gives players that second of hesitation that you need so much. It may not fool good players, but it buys you a second or two of time, and that makes all the difference.

ah, nice idea,
imo disguises are only useful when someone looks at you for less than a second, preferably longer range too, so they are less inclined to check.
