Building a New Computer!!!

 I realized it's time for a new computer. And well, I don't know anything. It will be strictly for games. I need to buy everything, from screen-speakers, to a mouse and keyboard. Harddrive size isn't really a bother, about 40-50gb should be enough. If there is a way for wi-fi to be built in would be great. I don't really know what I would want more, Desktop or Laptop. Whichever one is faster I guess. Feel free to post specs or products for both.

My budget is about 500-800$.

with same price desktop, same price laptop, desktop is like 10x better....

P.S.  You can't buy a 40-50gb hard drive these days.  LMAO.

Anywho, I'll look out for some good parts to suggest.

 Wifi because I don't want to run a 100 foot ethernet cable through my house.

Then desktop. Also I play on my brother's computer and he probably won't like me jacking his keyboard and mouse.

Smaller doesn't mean cheaper.  Now a days, you can find half a terabyte for cheap as hell.

Hell, terabyte drives are only $90.

the $800 limit is a little hard to stay within when you also need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers.  Without those accessories, the PC itself is within $800.

fortuneately i have a way to save on the monitor at least - my universty often has auctions of old computer parts, and yeah, i may have to settle for an old CRT monitor, but they have a lot of early flat screens that i might be able to get.
