Camera Shy

Does anybody know how many cameras we must detach to receive the "Camera Shy" achievement?  I notice that many cameras are not where portals can go.

33 cameras.  I got 28.  I don't know how to take out the other 5 (those where portals cannot be placed).  I had an idea of somehow using turrets on them or getting the energy balls to hit them but had no luck in my last go through.

All 33 cameras are removable using the portal gun.
I've played the game 3 times now, twice completely. I didn't take note of the achievement my first time so I completed it a second time with only 27 cameras destroyed.
The third time I took extra care to check every wall and got them all.

You'll sometimes find a camera behind you or to the side where you [or at least I] wouldn't have naturally bothered looking.

There are cameras before you even get a portal gun, and there are cameras where portals simply cannot go.  Are you saying we ignore these cameras and only go for 33 that CAN be portaled?

That's exactly what I'm saying.
Since you have no gun at first, any camera before you have the first gun do not count.
Likewise, since the portals do not stick to the black material, any camera mounted on the black material do not count.

You have to find ALL the cameras that are possible. I'm working on it right now while playing through again. You could also enter the cheat to allow you to use portals on any surface if you have trouble. (you can find it on cheatcc.com)

Having cheats enabled will disable the chance of unlocking an achievement. An example is when you're in Commentary mode, check the console and you'll notice that it enables cheats and it should also mention something about not accepting any achievements with them on [you may not see that until you're done playing].

Just read my post above. Every camera can be taken down with the portal gun and are all after you receive the portal gun. It's an easy achievement. Do yourself a favour and don't cheat.

One thing to note is that as soon as you get the portal gun, go back and get all the cameras for that level, otherwise you can't complete the achievement. It took me 3 complete run throughs to get it.

Yea I've tried that achievement once. I will try it again when I have more free time.
