Can't Connect to Server due to an inconsistent file?

Hey, I am new here. But NOT new to PC or TF2, so anyways.

I am having a problem connecting to any TF2 server. I joined a server it DL'd some files, played there for a bit then left, then when I tried to connect to any other server it is giving me an error saying that "water_dx80" needs to be consistant... wtf? I would really like some help.

This kind of crap sometimes happens when valve goes and changes a particle file or something similiar and doesn't tell anybody. Usually it takes about a day or two for servers to catch up and see that it's not a cheat. If you are running in DX8, temporary changing to DX9 may help. I could be wrong altogether but it's the best I can come up with.

EDIT: Oh yes, another thing. If this doesn't help, go to the options of TF2 in your steam games tab and verify the game cache.

Ok, Thanks for the info I am about to try it I will report back here if it's a fix.
