Can you still bonk/sandman taunt kill?

I was trying to execute the bonk/sandman kill today, and for some reason the taunt would end slightly before it completed the swing, thus denying me my kill. Is the bonk/sandman combo still possible, or was it patched out covertly?

Still works for me.

Is there a particular method to using it? I pull out the sandman, pull out the bonk, drink the bonk, then run up to an enemy and press the taunt key. Then I do 3/4 of the animation, and stop.

It's possible, but is buggy

"Scouts taunt kill can sometimes miss a player regardless of distance or aim, it will miss this player repeatedly. This occurs when the scout kill taunts and hits the player behind the one he was next to, making the player that he tried to kill, unable to be killed by the taunt. Until next respawn."

You have to taunt pretty much as soon as you've drank. So you'll need to be close to the enemy before applying the trick.

Ive been taunt killing a few hrs ago, so it still works fine for me at least.

I never thought of using bonk before hand, good idea.

You have to be where you want to be when you taunt and then drink the Bonk! and quickly switch to Sandman and taunt, like immediately, usually best to have the Sandman out then switch to Bonk! Drink it then hit Q for last weapon and G for taunt (or whatever your taunt key is), straight away, one after the other.
