This map is really fun and fast paced, played it for several hours last weekend. With that said, please explore this map to better understand how to attack and defend it.

It's basically 3 levels to your base with an entrance into each level and this map lives top to bottom so if you don't defend the top your base will fall easily. I recommend 1 sentry at the top looking down on the intel, and 1 on the first floor just outside the spawn doors facing the intel. Build a teleporter to upstairs as well to encourage offense to come out from the top and stop incoming enemy troops. Depending on the teams the engineer should hover around his gun to stop spys or venture out to the middle to harass attackers.

As an attack class keep in mind there are 3 entrances so if they have a turret on level 3, try going to level 2 or 1 if the turret on 3 isn't covering the intel. Also remember that the path you came in on is probably the best path out. The intel got pinned near guns so often because people tried to just run out the level 1 entrance when they came in the level 3 entrance. Boom, walked right into a gun plus all the guys coming from the spawn room.

Great map, I loved it back in the Quake 3 version of Team Fortress and the mapper did a great job of TF2'ing it. I totally couldn't remember the name of this map but remembered the layout like it was yesterday when first joined.

Seems to me if a team controls the other teams top level then they usually have a better chance of coming away the victor.

What I like to do is start the round as an engineer in this map and help the others upgrade their guns then switch to whatever I want. This prevents Scouts from getting the intelligence and running past the level 1 sentry at the very start of the round.

This when done properly and is sustained is a game deciding factor.
The reason being is that you can drop down through the hole in the upper onto the flag, then run FORWARD onto the elevator before the sentries can shoot you to death.
Then you can just run it home.

@ Fanlaen - I've often done this, even in the middle of a round to get the SG back to level 3... then switch back.  Especially if the intel has been moved and a new SG needs a quick construction.

@ sishgupta - yea... I've also seen a soldider jump down while being healed and rocket back up with the intel dropped it and a scout took off.  Don't think it was on a TF2F server but it was the same map.

A decent spy can dominate this map. My 1st time playing it, I was making absolutely zero progress as soldier, so I switched to spy. Within a few minutes our team had won. Lathered, rinsed, repeated another 3 games. I now play only spy on this map.

CTF_Chaos is probably one of my favorite maps aswell. One thing I learned is that your team can usually benefit greatly from one or two pyros.(Which i guess sort of pertains to Static's post?) Also, last night we had three engis, with a sentry on each floor, and we were managing great defensively. Also, if you find yourself in trouble by the outside the opponents fort, go to the second floor, you'd be surprised at how long you can stay there without being discovered. Another cool thing is the little grate on the second floor, which allows enough room for demos to take out sentries.

Its also great to put a sentry on the enemies separator between ramps, or on the middle block, overlooking their exit.

@ X.Static - you've been playing more and more spy from the times I've been in the same server with you.. I think it was funny the other night when the tf2f servers were down, you on one team and me on the other playing spy and we only crossed paths once or twice.
