If you don't know yet, one way to login to aperturescience.com is with the username CJohnson and password tier3. This info can be found in one of the secret rooms in Portal (not sure which level), and allows you to visit the notes.exe file on the website. Besides providing a nice timeline of pre-Portal history, it also reveals that GlaDos was launched on bring-your-daughter-to-work day, and we can presume this is when GlaDos released the deadly neurotoxin (which prompted the installation of a 'morality core').
Now, I think we can assume that CJohnson is Cave Johnson, a founder of sorts for Aperture Science. We can also assume that this login to the website was in this secret room because Cave was the room's inhabitant (and the writer on the walls, in which we can assume he went insane hiding from GlaDos).
Also, I've heard speculation that Portal 2 will be a prequel because that Valve is looking for a voice for Cave Johnson (who probably would've died by the events of Portal, because of his age and kidney failure), which almost certainly means we won't be playing as him, though. I do think this strengthens my claims, though.
From the rather random fact that GlaDos was launched on bring-your-daughter-to-work day, and the shared C at the beginnings of their names, I theorized that Chell was Cave Johnson's daughter. I don't know if anyone has thought of this before, but I find it very convincing.
Remember these lines? GlaDos says them thoughout Portal:
"Well done. Remember, the Aperture Science 'Bring your daughter to work' day is the perfect time to have her tested." Did Cave Johnson sacrifice his daughter for Science? Or did GlaDos get a hold of her?
"All your other friends couldn't come either, because you don't have any other friends because of how unlikable you are. It says so right here in your personnel file; 'Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter unlikable loner whose passing shall not be mourned.' SHALL NOT BE MOURNED. That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted. So that's funny too." Was Chell adopted, or did Cave Johnson pretend she was?
"Ugh, I hate you. Are you trying to escape? Hahahah. Things have changed since the last time you left the building." Sounds like she hasn't left in a while, seeing as the Portal Storms and Combine invasion have been going on outside. Was her last time outside on that bring-your-daughter-to-work day, before she was seperated from Cave Johnson?
"Your entire life has been a mathematical error... A mathematical error I'm about to correct." Was Chell supposed to be born? Did Cave intend to get rid of her by making her a test subject? Are the bring-your-daughter-to-work day refrences only symbolic of who Chell is?
Thoughts?

Hmm you raise a very good questioning on the plot of Portal with this all. This is my first time seeing the information on CJohnson before, though im not sure still how to long into the site with the ambigious login screen as of now. I think for sure it is very much possolbe that cave is the father of Chell, though how the whole "Portal" plot began being either a result of Cave and/or GlaDos, thats is still something that will be hard to grasp. Actually, this all reminds me of the "Resident Evil" movies with the AI within the infected facilities that controlled it's operation.

I think you read too much into this, and I believe that Portal's main protagonist, Chell, is just some random subject who manages to destroy everything and bugger off.
CJohnson is more than likely the founder or a scientist, yes, but I do not believe in any way that it is related to Chell.
GLaDOS's lines are just crazy AI, no significance, whatosever.
My thoughts on the matter.

I agree with Sanic. I bet that Valve just put the username and password there just to get hype up for Portal 2, or more Half-Life for that matter. And theres another theory that Chell is Eli's Wife and Alyx's mother, but Eli mentions his wife's name is Azian at Black Mesa East. And in the picture, she looks NOTHING like Chell. As for how she got there, she's probably the daughter of a scientist who has been left in that bed for a few years. Why GLADoS took her out then, who knows. I doubt that Portal and Half-Life are that related.

I'm probably thinking too much, yes. Yet, I still think Chell has a bigger part than simply blowing up the Aperture Facility. You could say she has beginnings like that of Gordon Freeman, but if Portal 2 will be a prequel, I think she'll have a history outside of being a random test subject. That's why I think any connection between her and Cave Johnson is valid.
And the connection between Portal and Half-Life will probably be a lot larger in Episode 3 and Portal 2. In Episode 3, the Borealis (sp?) is likely to play a large role, and in Portal 2 (if it's a sequel) they'll likely involve the rivalry between Black Mesa and Aperture Science more promienently.

The level that that login is found in is the companion cube level. I like your theory (and it is probably going to be more true then mine), but my theory is that Chell is just another test subject, and EVERYTHING that happens is all part of the test, including the boos "fight" with GLaDOS. I just had another idea going off of your theory, maybe the reason there is cake is because the day that Chell has to go through the Enrichment Center is Chell's birthday. Just another thought.

That sounds like a very Bioshocky portal to me Rosendoom, I don't think valve would do that, but I have no real idea.

I think this is jus GLADoS trying to insult Chell. Not everything she says should be taken serious. She had a very dark sense of humor, so I think this fits her. She lied most of the time in the game, so why isn't she this time. I mean, she says this in the same room: Do you think I’m trying to trick you with reverse psychology? Maybe she's tricking Chell with that too. "That thing you burned up isn't important to me. It's the fluid
catalytic cracking unit. It made shoes for orphans. Nice job breaking
it, hero." So that thing really made shoes for oprhans? No.

On the Eli Wife theory, we have to put into accout Chell's age, I don't know much about Half-life characters but Eli looks 50+ years old while Chell only looks in her mid-twenties. So mabye Chell is a collage student (random test subject theory) right before the Black Mesa Incident. We don't know how long Chell was in that room or how far away Apature science is from Black Mesa. It could be in another country for all we know.

In response to Ninja's post, I'm not sure if the information is out there yet, but It seems like episode 2 takes place in Russia, or a similar country, look at some of the writing on the walls, it looks Russian to me, similar to Meet the Heavy (Russian version)
