Competive Acceptable?

Can cp_Dustbowl be played competetively among the "really awsome players"? When I see clan matches, I almost always see it on a 5 Point Control Map

So, can Dustbowl be played competetively (as in, would you guys?)

Dustbowl is a horrible map and takes about 2 hours to play, let alone if theres an OT.  Its a bad map in pubs and is even worse in comp play.

Dustbowl isn't a really a competitive map.  The only A/D map (I know about) used in competitive play is Gravel Pit.

It's played with stopwatch. It doesn't make for too good of a competitive map, however sometimes allows for crazy strategies.

Honestly, I dislike the map. It's tailored to explosive spam and doesn't allow for sniping.

Dustbowl is one, if not my #1, favorite map(s). I just wasn't sure if you could take it seriously, and you apparentely, for the most part, don't. And Chro, your awsome.

It's a pub map because a lot of people like to play pyro, engineer, and demoman. This map is effective for those 3 classes primarily (soldier works a bit too).

Also, Chro is completely correct. It is the least desirable map to play for me as well.

Dustbowl is hands down the best map if you're just looking to have some fun in TF2. Some of the elitist competitive players may hate on it - but for your average TF2 player, it's a really enjoyable map.

But...this thread is about competitive gaming, and I'm not the authority in that department.

Some people are saying it isn't a good pub map, and there I disagree highly. It's probably one of the few maps where people are sort of forced to work together to succeed, and that's quite an accomplishment in pubs.

It really depends what class you like. I happen to like sniper which has the worst time in many areas.
