Good afternoon/evening/morning everybody.. I've been playing Demo for a relatively short time compared to y'all. But, I often find myself during combat and sometimes just as  I'm walking about the map.... Just jumping randomly, just by instinct I just hop while I fight and I'm wondering, do you consider this a valid strategy for  confusing the enemy?

I would use bunny hopping as a cautionary tactic. I may need to retreat quickly, which means bunny hopping may inadvertently allow myself to be propelled across the map by an unexpected rocket/grenade. This is also handy when coming around a corner (as a medic who's healing), as it will either assist in your survival or result in ultimate demise. Tough call really, seems to me that if it works in practice, than it may as well be considered useful.

I like to bunny hop to reduce splash damage from rockets and to make it harder for classes like scout to hit me with their scattergun. I wouldn't advise jumping blindly around corners as it takes a bit longer to retreat when you jumped out the door than if you had just walked through. That second can be vital if there's a heavy or sentry on the other side.

I hop constantly. It's not a good idea to do in a sniper's LOS though, because good ones will pick you off midair, when you can't change direction rapidly.

Thank you  for your opinions and, usually, I don't jump around corners.... (unless I'm playing heavy)  I just do it so that I'm just less predictabel

Jumping to confuse the enemy, not so much especially vs experienced players, but for avoiding damage, yes.

From a soldier perspective, jumping enemies are much easier to hit since the arc is predictable as to where they will land, so I'll just fire a rocket where your feet are going to be. Try and jump after a soldier fires the rocket (as Octon said, minimizes splash damage).

Thye only time I'll really jump is when playing Soldier so that my rockets can shoot down at more of an angle and also like Octon said, to reduce splash damage in a Soldier war.

I would say keep bunny hopping to a minimum. The only classes that really benefit from this are Soldier and Scout because of the Scout's double jump. Also jumping around a heavy while batting him is very very annoying/confusing for him as long as you keep it sparatic.

Jumping randomly is crucial, especially for a Demoman.  I've been in some tight places but thanks to jumping randomly and tossing stickies/nades I find myself saying "Wow, how did I make it out of there".

Well, I've had different views of bunnyhopping here, but It's clear that they're several positives.. and I'll make sure to only use it in appropriate situations.
