How do I countersnipe good snipers? This is the worst part of my sniping game and I wanna get better. In pubs, I can usually countersnipe with just better reaction time and aiming, but when facing a good sniper it's hard. I can't "wait for them to scope" because with a good sniper, they usually fire real fast after they scope. So yea, tips?

I'd say get them when they're unsuspecting. Because otherwise, as you said, they'll just kill you. Preferably while unsuspecting and scoped, so you have a high chance to hit them.
Be sneaky.

You can attempt to change positions and catch them unaware, but this requires that there be more than one good location and that you're not trapped in your base. When I'm fighting really good snipers on 2fort, I snipe from the water. Out-think them if you can't out-shoot them

Get better and faster than them, that's really all you can do while applying sniper mindgames.
|
Hit them from a different angle and stay out of their line of sight. Like Grim said though, that's pretty hard on maps like 2fort. Just practice, practice, and practice. Play on some sniperwars servers, that will get you countersniping well.

Best Situation: You know where he is and he is unaware of your location, wait for him to pop into your view, don't "go out looking for him". Good snipers learn to keep themselves from getting tunnel vision and will spot you if you walk into their line of sight, but if they walk in yours and you aren't moving, you will blend in and can most of the time get a shot off before they notice you. Always remember, the first time anyone sees an area, the first thing their eyes snap to is ANYTHING thats moving.
Worst Situation: Its man to man sniper fight. this is one of the worst places you can get yourself into as a sniper for two reasons. One: You aren't shooting medics and other high priority targets and Two: If you die to the sniper, he has however long the re-spawn timer is of free shots on your team. This is where it all comes down to how good of a twitch-aim player you are, and mind games. The best thing to do in my experience, is to scramble around like crazy, let him take the first shot, then take that 1 precious second of him being slowed down by scoping to make the kill. (If both of you are playing this game, try to pressure him with a few no-scopes, if you manage to land enough of them, he may retreat, but don't rely on it.) And even if you think you are above this, you may have to go for body shots, they are typically easier to pull off, and can save your life by taking .3 seconds to hit him in the chest instead of taking that extra bit of time to get that oh so tempting headshot, but in turn you taking the bullet.

The problem with countersniping is the fact that your a still target for about 0.5-1second after you shoot, depending on how fast you shoot after scoping, this is longer or shorter. A good sniper will most of the time pick you off after that first shot.
Although i don't like to do this, as i don't find it skillful, and you don't get better by shooting non moving snipers, but it's still an okay tactic, you can 'attempt' to juke the other sniper to shoot by fakescoping, just hold the right button down and it will scope and unscope real fast for you. After the other sniper shoots, take a shot, if you miss, hit the strafe keys really randomnly and if the opposing sniper has a hard time with it, add a jump or crouch in there.
You can also practice peeking around a corner and trying to snap to the other snipers head quickly and than retreating behind the wall immediately, i wouldnt use this too much, as the other sniper will just put their crosshair where your head was and get an easy kill, unless your that fast and they don't react intime.
Really the only thing that is fool proof is don't miss (duh), and you get better aim by trying new shots and shooting faster and really focusing on watching the head of the other sniper, it's like they say keep your eye on the ball in baseball, silly sounding for tf2, but very true.
This is all assuming your talking about 1v1 sniper situations, which is one of the most important and hardest skills to learn as a sniper, and really there isnt a whole lot of tactics you can do. The person with better aim / faster reflexes will almost always win, so just practice, that's all you can do in the end.
