First off, I have been playing Demoman quite a bit, and actually only just figured this out Yesterday. I have not seen it mentioned anywhere else though so maybe more people do not know about it yet.

If you hold the left mouse button to charge the shot on the sticky bomb, and hold the right mouse button at the same time, the sticky bomb will not fire when it reaches max charge until you release the right mouse button. You cannot do this if you already have more sticky bombs out because it will blow them up when you go to hold your sticky in.

My question is this. Is there anyway to stop a charge like half way? Maybe you dont want to shoot it full force, but don't want to fire it quite yet? Secondly, would it be considered a hack if someone wrote a script that did that math and put a marker/aimer where your sticky was going to land when fired? (Like as you charge your shot, the marker gets further and further away?)

thanks for the tip i didn't know that and i play as demoman the most, so thanks =D and i would say that it wouldnt be hacking but it would be cheating if someone did that because it gives you an advantage over everyone else if you know where the sticky is going to land. Of course if you play as demoman long enough you should have a rough idea of where its going to land. But still good question

this would be useful in 2fort, if you could hold the charge for all your stickies.  You could get in the battlements, hide, charge your sticky, then jump out and fire it.  Unfortunately, like you said, it only works for the first one.

On the other side, a bit of experience and the audio cues should be enough for you to time your stickies well so that you're ready to fire it when it charges to the proper point.

The Demoman's increased sticky bomb range ability is really useful for "capture point" maps where it is hard to get close to the point when it is being saturated with rockets and bullets by the opposing team.  Increasing the range of your stickies is a great way to defend a point without risking too much exposure to enemy snipers.  Just keep an eye out for spies!

I've also found this skill useful in the map "Well" when the center point is being held by the enemy, it is useful to fire stickies across the yard to take out enemy sentries and clear the way for a capture or an offensive push.

Yes.  Learning to arch your shots by eye is the entire unique skill behind that class.

No problem, I had not seen it mentioned anywhere, and I am hardcore demoman, so when I stumbled upon this by accident, I figured I would let you guys know.

And yeah, I have 38 hours played as Demoman so I can arch and time pretty well. Just thought maybe if we had something to give us a rough estimate it would be nice, but yeah I can see where that would fal up gameplay balance.

Also, would it kill them to give us a grenade launcher that shot grenades out straight? The fact they shoot out to one side or the other kills me lol.

Dont forget you can trigger the sticky int he air too, so you can shoot it at someone, or behind them, and throw them sideways/forwards.

Also it would definately be a hack. No script could show you where your sticky will land, only some third party addon could do that, and that most definately would be a cheat. It really does not take long to figure out where the stickies will land. Practice makes perfect! =)
