Engineer ideas

I just thought of a couple ideas that could be alternatives for the wepons. Constructive criticism is appreciated, feel free to post some of your ideas as well.

Sentry alternative: This type of sentry trades firepower for stealthier locations and more versatile play. The sentry would upgrade the same as the old ones, but is much smaller and can be placed on walls/celings too. It would look much like a real life smoke alarm. This would make sentries harder to spot and destroy, as well as surprising many enemies. It's damage (at level 3) would be about 80% of a regular level 3 sentry, minus the rockets, and about 80% of the health. Dispensers would also be like this, but heal/resupply more slowly then the current ones.

Wrench alternative: This weapon would be a screwdriver. The screwdriver would do almost no damage to enemies (maybe 15 a hit?) but builds machines at a faster rate. It holds up to 250 metal at once and swings 40% faster. This makes the engi rely more on his shotty, pistol and his sentry.

Pistol/shotty alternative: This would be a "nailgun" like weapon. It fires much like the pistol but has no clips, instead it uses 4 metal per shot. Obviously it would do more damage than the pistol and would be slightly more accurate.

I would like wall teleporters, (refer to the wall sentries) that are just like portals you run at and the insta port you.

I would like to see an unlock that allows user customization of sentry stats. 

Based on a point system, the sentry's health, damage, build time, cost, acquisition time, range and other properties could all be "engineered" to suit your particular play style. Of course, some attributes would be more costly than others, and buffing one would lead to nerfs in others for balance, but I think it would be an interesting and useful addition.

I've said this same idea before but hell I'll retype it. I think the Engineer should be able to blow up his buildings while they're being sapped, but the Spy still gets the kill, but if he's close enough the explosion will kill the spy.

Distance repair for buildings, not like across the map or anything, but being able to throw your wrench or something towards the sentry if you can see it, like Jarate you only get 1 and you have to wait for a recharge.

Other than that I don't think the engineer really needs anything, he's the most balanced class.

Replace the wrench with an adjustable spanner tied to the end of a rope.  Thrown like a grapple (secondary) or swung like a normal wrench it can repair from a range or like a normal wrench.  Repairing 75 metal when thrown (1.5 second retrieval time), and 15 when swung, it is handy for quick fixes or long range maintainence.  However, it is a lightweight tool with little mass and poor melee characteristics, making it ill suited to a fight (it does bat damage, but swings like a wrench).

I like some of these ideas.
I was hoping the Engie could get a Shotgun replacement for a Desert Eagle called the:

 Mustang .45 Caliber Spy Shooter.

Or Mustang for short.

It would crit disguised or cloaked Spies.  100% of the time.
