In the spirit of We Hate Our Lives and the Snails, there's another {TF2F} subteam in town! It's composed mostly of us Euros, with a few rather confused Americans who seem to have wandered in and made themselves at home.

We've formed to arrange our practices and scrims for times which are easier for people in (or near to) the GMT time zone, or just those Americans who prefer earlier timeslots for their games. We had a fair few practices before the summer before I went away, and now I'm back we hope to get things running regularly again!

The team name is NATO, to signify our transatlantic alliance and willingness to unite against the common foe! The tags (provisonally) are +nato+, so you'll see something along the lines of {TF2F} ((Cascade +nato+ in our servers. One or two of us aren't actually {TF2F} members (yet?!) but have still been playing regularly with us in the practices, so get to wear just the +nato+ tags without the {TF2F} at the start.

Those of us who are in {Tf2F}, like all the other subclans, we're {TF2F}ers first. The natos are just a way for us to easily identify who's a practice regular and who will be playing in the nato-timezone scrims.

I'm loosely in charge, if "in charge" means vaguely murmuring about practice times every now and again and taking final decisions about team members. Ladykiller's also quite involved in organising things, so feel free to punt questions to her as well.

Who is in the squad?

Lady and I put our heads together (hott!) and made up a list of who we felt to be regulars, and also felt like part of the team already. The following people are welcome to put on the +nato+ tags (in alphabetic order) are:

Berto
Cascade
Divine
Fluffy Tiger Plushie
KamZhiYii
Ladykiller
Leadface
Numenor
theButterfly
Willazord

How do I join the squad?

Ask to! Join in our practices, play alongside us, become a regular. Play as a member of the team, and be easy to get along with. Super skills not necessarily required (though just hanging around the rest of us will make you plain awesome in no time at all. Look at Willazord.)

When do we practice?

Most Sundays at 2pm GMT (get used to that acronym), except when Cas is too rubbish to get round to arranging something. In that case, hope that Ladykiller has a cunning plan.

When will we scrim?

Possibly Sunday afternoons sometimes and also weekday evenings somewhere around 8pm GMT (or a little later).

Can we challenge you?

Absolutely! We especially welcome challenges from the rest of {TF2F}, though please understand that some of the Euro players are a little newer to the game than the most hardcore of the US {TF2F} players.

Are you guys leaving {TF2F}?

Don't be silly.

If you're in +nato+, are you in {TF2F}?

Not necessarily. A couple of our members are applying to the squigs but already play regularly with the natos. Note, though, that playing regularly with us will certainly help your chances of getting in. Vice-versa, existing {TF2F} members are more likely to get into the natos.

Who will get to play in scrims?

We'll be preferring +nato+ regulars to {TF2F} irregulars - that's to say, if you've got +nato+ after your name, you have first dibs on a slot for a practice or a match. More preference for those who've been with us longest, but we do want to keep on bringing new people in if they want in!

In the event that there aren't enough natos for a practice or a scrim, non-nato {TF2F} members are welcome to join us!

Hi everyone,

thats my first post now here on these forums even though i often read here for tactical tips and stuff like that.
But now that i hear from the European squad I'm really looking forward in playing with you but on which servers do you play do you have a euro server?
I do think I'm a fairly decent Soldier and I would really apriciate in practicing with you the only problem is that I'm from germany and my spoken english is well not that good but I think that if you don't laugh I can try to speak english on your servers too .

See you soon hopefully

I'm pretty sure it's -4 hours.

Example:
02:00:00 p.m. Sunday September 28, 2008 in GMT converts to
10:00:00 a.m. Sunday September 28, 2008 in US/Eastern

Ahha! But, you fool, we are currently in BST, which is British Standard Time, which includes the summer time adjustment! -5 it is for EST right now. There's 1 week during which we desynch with America, then we're back on -5 again for the east coast.
