I was just wondering if anyone has figured out the weapon's damage range? Based on the info given by valve and the tf2 wiki, i can assume that

Scattergun: 10 pellets, 95 average damage- 9.5 dmg per pellet 80% of 9.5 is 7.6 dmg per shot for the FAN
FAN: 10+ 20%= 12 pellets @ 80% dmg= 7.6 per each of the 12 pellets= 91.2 per shot

this means the fan can 2 hit even the demoman, as the 2 shots would make 182.4 damage together.

Is this right? It's early, and I probably did my math wrong, but if I didn't, this could be very interesting.

Don't do the math, thats just a very over complicated way to check. Get a scout to shoot you in the face with it, see the damage done.

It does 100 damage.

The damage is the same, but the hard part is getting a 2 shots kill since you propel the enemy out of close range after the first shot

i dont really like the new gun, its harder to two shot ppl and if you miss your stuck reloading or switching to pistol. only reason im using it is to get achievements so i can try out the bat and bonk

I've watched some footage, and if you're point blank when you get both shots in (subsequent 2nd shot can be done very quickly, just the reload takes time) You can do some whopping 200+ damage (via the info on TF2 Wiiki)

as far as killing goes. it looks like the F A N isnt very good. I dont think it was intended to be a killing weapon. Its great for seperation though, I sandman'd a heavy and seperated his medic from him and let my team do the rest.

overall I think the original scattergun is better

IF you get your second shot in, decent players dont just stand still. overall i like the scatgun better since it allows more room for error

It's entertaining to use it on noob pyros that run right at you with the flame thrower. Just blast em back and pistol them. Rinse and repeat.

two shotting works very well with the force a nature. if you're in the open your shots will blow the enemy away and they won't die and you'll need to pistol them. But if they're near a wall blast them up and into the wall for a very clean and satisfying 2shot.

Also, if you can get under your enemy and shoot them up the weapon juggles very well
