Faster downloads

Can i use bz2 with Beetle's Mod, or am i gonna need to install mani on top of it in order to use file compression?  My bw is limited, so I am forced to make heavy use of QOS to insure good server performance.  This makes downloads pretty slow, so i would like to compress the files, for more rapid downloading.

I bet Mooga can tell me...

bz2 is built into SRCDS, you don't even need a mod to used ziped maps.  However, they need to be on a fastdl server .  Also, don't use Mani with TF2... you're only asking for trouble.  BM or SM are the way to go

yeah... i been down the manny road before...  i wondered if srcds understood it itself... thanx alot.  i have a web server in house, so it is already the dl sourse, but the files are not compressed (yet, that is).

The file in there is an easy way to compress maps.  Just make sure you put a COPY in the folder

thanx... i used 7zip for all 100+ maps last night... a little cumbersome, but the job is done.   

Still, i appreciate the heads up, i'll use that script for any mass compression tasks in the future.
