Favorite custom maps

My vote's for Orange Box. Fun, accessible to every class, and can be a breeze and a challenge given the people you're facing.

Geothermal here. It's a really well-designed map, and it's a map pyros can actually do well on, which is a plus. I've seen most classes do well on it.

Just to shout out that the WORST custom map I've ever seen (other than the pure jank ones) is castle3...would everyone please KILL IT WITH FIRE.

I didn't like Geothermal much at all. The middle was way too sniper friendly, but then when the other team actually takes out your snipers they basically have no other choice but to spawn camp since the respawn is right around the corner.

I don't really like any of the stock maps much, so I almost only play on customs. I also prefer CTF maps, so my favorites are ctf_Mach4, ctf_Impact2, ctf_Turbine, ctf_Stronghold. When I'm in the mood for a CP map, I'll usually go with either cp_Science, cp_Warpath, or cp_Lazytown.

I vote for any of the TF2F community maps Cowtown, ctf_fishy, Billiards, Checkmate, Frogger, and 0fear.

Im gonna get fragged for it... but Mario Kart, Its just so much fun (especially with low gravity )

I also like the billiards maps, meleebarn, Orange X (and most variations of it) and some other ones.

Geothermal is excellent, and anyone who gets away with sniping on that map is either very good or up against noobs, when we play it on CC2's, snipers don't live ten seconds because there's a scout/spy/pyro on them. It's a VERY fast-paced aggressive map, and a map that's pyro-friendly enough to balance the class, too.

Try it competitively and tell me you won't play pyro.

Chaos is another excellent CTF map.

Also, mad props to ctf_checkmate. Checkmate is, to be simply put, the smallest 12v12 CTF map ever. It looks like it's meant to be 6v6 or even 4v4...but no. This map plays just fine with 12 people, we did it one night on NOM NOM for two straight hours. Set my cap record, too.

My favourite is either ctf_mach4 or ctf_turbine. There are a bunch of other customs that I love, though.

Don't have the PC version but what I've seen from youtube, and if I did have the PC version with a good computer, I'd say my favourite would be CTF_Convoy.

I love Chaos so much.

CTF_Turbine (I forget if it has a version number)
CTF_Chaos is nice when there aren't super snipers playing it (Snipers practically cover 90% of the midfield.)
CTF_Snofort (even though snipers control half the map, it's just too much fun sneaking around as a heavy and punching people when they least expect it)


CP_castle3 and CP_science are the only custom CP maps I like, and Castle is iffy. On the one hand, I love lobbing nades over walls. On the other hand, the map is just huge and becomes an engi fest on all three 'final' points.
