Share your tips and stratagies for goldrush!

I dont think many people realize this as ive never seen anyone do it but me, but at the start of the first segment of gold rush (when blue gets out of the start there is an incline on the left and right and the cart is in the middle, up high on the far left are some traintracks) if you rush out of the start (as demo) you can take the path up the small hill to your left and using a single sticky , or two if you want, you can easily jump and land on the light that is hanging out of the wall on building to the right. you can move around a little and you can rain loads of death from above on your red opponents. For some reason no one ever looks up there or has enough time to see where all these stickys are coming from. You can also sticky jump yourself up there during the setup phase if your red but i wouldnt recommend as you will probably get sniped.

Please share any tips or secrets you have about GoldRush.

Too many Blu teams just keep trying to push the cart at a constant speed.  Most times when I see Blu when is when they have maybe a couple people who continue pushing the cart; while the rest of the team clears the path ahead.  Also, still being a young map, there's not enough spies running around.  That often leads to Red getting setup in locations more than they should be able to.

Speaking of spies- a good way that I've seen to take out the initial Sniper/Engie/Turret setup in the second story of the building in the first cap of the first stage, is using a spy (or two, if some other spy can be convinced to come along, or just does anyway). I'm not really good enough to pull it off single-handedly in one life... but who better to take out a turret, an engie trying to repair it, and then a clueless-to-their-surroundings sniper, than a spy?

On the first map there's lots of really good spots for demomen that seem to get overlooked.  For example, engies always set up turrets on that right ledge, which happens to be conveniently in range of the pipe bombs when shot from the back left doorway.  And the back wall focuses the pipebombs in, so you don't have to expose yourself for long to devastate the turrets--unlike if you'd had to use stickies.  Similarly, the top right balcony can be used to take out sentries in the back buildings and near the tunnel on the left side.  You literally cannot win offense against a halfway decent team in goldrush without at least one good demoman and another good engineer.

If you dont have guys ahead of the cart with medics attached, be prepared to either straign your skills to the limits or lose. A couple of sentries on the last point in stage 2 are killer.

Also, try to only keep a maximum of one or two people on the cart. The cart moves at 50% speed for the first guy, 75% for the second, 88% for the third, and 100% for the fourth. Having two more people in the front really helps out and just have two people on the cart, and it will still be moving at a nice rate.

How does an engie get on the tall platform on the defensive side.  There is no obvious was to do it ..You could maybe get there if you were a soldier or demoman by launching yourself but,  I've seen an engie up there before so I know it can be done!.   Also,  how do you jump on your dispenser?  thanx Timex

If you treat Goldrush like a more advanced Dustbowl, offensive strategy becomes much more clear.

On offence, you need to attack from all direction for the best chance of winning. So if everyone piles into 1 chokepoint, it's much easier to defend than a few people coming from all directions.

So when deploying yourself to the battlefield, try and pick an anvenue not in use at that moment.
