I don't know if this is really the case with everyone else, but I find that there are pretty much NO good scouts on the Xbox 360. The scout class has become something that new or cocky players be, thinking they can own everyone with a bat, and then get creamed by...every class. Pretty much their only accomplishments in a game is sneaking behind red team on Dustbowl and then capping the second point just after the first, which does not really endear me to them...

So really what I'm asking is, do you guys have the same problem? Have you ever played with a good scout?

On a side note, if anyone wants to play some good no-anti-grave games, I stopped joining games a while ago, and can host 8v8 with almost no lag.. Just sayin'.

The issue here my friend, is not the scout, but the 360, and more specifically, the controller. See, a scout requires an amazing amount of aim, and precision to use effectively, and (like the sniper) that cannot really be found on a controller. On the PC the scout is an overpowered monster, and should be taken away!

People say the same about the sniper, yet there are many, many good snipers.

Also, I feel I know how to aim with the scout, and am at least not bad, but its still my worst class. Every once in a while I go a scout streak against a team that is as dumb as rocks, but its not really common.

I don't think the problem is with aiming, it just seems that people don't THINK when using the scout. I think there is certainly the capability to be a very good scout, it just doesn't happen.

I'm not really talking just aiming, I'm talking with manuvering. Nothing against the controller, but you simply can't pull off the same things with two joysticks as you can with a mouse and keyboard. A scout needs to be able to jump around everywhere while keeping his crosshairs RIGHT on the target. Also, a scout needs to be able to put himself right up against another player to do maximum damage, which does become difficult when you're on the Xbox.

Same thing on the ps3, there are almost no good scouts or snipers. It's not even so much about the aim, honestly, people are just stupid. I see snipers using the smg more often than the rifle and scouts using the bat more often than the scattergun way too often.

Meh. Maybe you're right.

I usually play Scout more as a Spy, getting those close up shots by jumping out of sight behind someone. So that might be why all the BAMF scouts that decide they wanna take you head-on die.

i think where most of the problem with most players is that they don't realize this about the scout, and therefor they don't change the buttons around accordingly. when i first started playing the scout i loved the speed, but as soon as you needed to jump there went your control on the crosshairs, so i switched out some things. since the scout has yet to need the use of the secondary-fire button, i swapped A with LT, and now i can jump, aim, and fire all at once, making it a much smoother ride. now when i play i'm usually near top if not leading the board (unless i'm playing with the tf2f 360 clan ).
and to answer your question, yes, i have played with a few good scouts, but they are few and far between.

That's clever : D

If you wanna play, friend me. I'm pretty much always at the top of the boards or second to a spammy demoman. This could be interesting..

I play... Scout/Soldier/Pyro/Heavy/Medic/Sniper/Spy....

Its SO MUCH harder to be a good scout/sniper w/o a mouse to twitch aim. I played 360 for about 6 months and saw 1 decent scout, on PC theres countless amazing scouts. All about the twitch aiming yo

But that's the thing. It's not that hard if you're good. I see it in other classes, but it seems like no one wants to try to play the Scout class.
