This week we play HK for round number 2. The maps were Mach4 and Gravel Pit.

In Mach 4, we started off a little shakey with them getting the first cap. After we established control in the middle we adapted to the 2 Engineer defense they were running. At any given point and time they had 3 to 4 sentry guns we had to take care of before capping the intel. We finally prevailed at removing those 4 times to cap the intel each time. Another good point to add was Shadow completly holding thier sniper at bay in a sniper war allowing us to control the middle. While Voss and Fragimus guarded our intel. We eventually won 4-1 on Mach4.

Gravel Pit was a different story. We started off attacking and again they had to full level 3 sentries up before the round started. One scout capped A while the rest rushed be and we eventually won that round. On defence HK capped the first 2 points really fast. We were able to hold them off till the last 30 seconds when the capped it. On our next attack we grabbed B really fast and moved on to a where it was a mess. We had a really hard time getting A, but managed to cap it with 1 minutes left. We managed to cap C pretty fast. On our last defense, we pretty much let them have A with only one demo guarding the point. Cap B on the other hand was a battle. The eventually take it with an unheard of 3 heavy, 3 medic, 2 solly combo. As they moved on to C the kept the same strategy it never really materialized for them.

final scores:
Gravel Pit: 6 to 5, in favor of the { } clan
Mach4: 4 to 1, in favor of the  { } clan

Thanks to all who played today on both sides of the match.

Just for the record, they only had 2 sentry guns at a time, per the class limits

Their defense was definitely tough to beat though, with 2 engineers, 1 dedicated-defense demo, and 2 other demos that played "midfielder". Once we settled into a rhythm with the uber-demo to take out the sentries, we were able to take control. I believe chuckles had a nice spy run with the intel as well. Props to fragimus max and voss for playing the sometimes-boring defender roles, you guys held it down well

I'll have a demo up soon of Gravel Pit, if you don't want random me jumping around, just go forward to tick 17500, or 4:20, that's where the real set-up starts.

Edit: Gravel Pit demo

Also, great match everyone, it was awesome

Yeah, that was really fun.  I was getting antsy on Mach3 though, and although my score suffered on Granary, I was glad to have been able to help on a couple of key captures and defenses.

Sorry for my lack of voice comm, btw.  I had my headset on the whole time, but when using Vent voice chat, everyone's voices were different volumes.  There was no consistency and I couldn't hear some players over the game sounds (which were at a decent level.)

I even responded - I heard, "You have to type to talk to him." and I was like, "I hear you, just not loud enough." - and then of course, someone would say something with 3 volume and someone else would say something at 11 volume.

Any suggestions in finding a middle ground when in-game?

Added:  Hahaha.... I just noticed you have one of my post round kills in that screenshot above.    I had been playing on pubs earlier, and I kinda forgot a few times that we were playing competitive rounds.  That's okay though, they got me back a few times.   I do remember hearing Voss, I believe, telling me to leave those poor bastards alone.  lol

Next time we play Granary, though, it would really help if - during setup - a few of you guys run over as Scout to where I'm bulding the SG and suicide yourselves back to spawn.  This will give me enough metal to have a 3rd level sentry waiting for them when the round starts.

Nice job! Sorry for the absence, here I was sitting playing in a server waiting for the time to come and lo and behold internet and cable tv just shut off. Its always a pleasure to deal with the cable company when your landlord pays everything and not you... hopefuly it it set back up soon.

Again, great job.

After being asked to, I switched to soldier - but I was so ass-bad at it that I switched to demo.  I like the soldier class, I'm just godawful at playing it.
