Okay, some background info.

My ISP is old and not well maintained, my max download/upload is 45kbps, always.

Recently, just a few days ago, I have noticed that my torrents have been a lot slower.

However, my other internet (if i download something off firefox) stays solid at ~45kbps.

Most of the time now, I can barely get Utorrent to download anything over 10kbps, even if I run multiple torrents.

I can assure you that all of my neccesary ports are forwarded, and I even ran a ISP Torrent Throttling test, which came back with these results.

Is BitTorrent traffic on a well-known BitTorrent port (6881) throttled?

* The BitTorrent upload (seeding) worked. Our tool was successful in uploading data using the BitTorrent protocol.

* There's no indication that your ISP rate limits your BitTorrent uploads. In our tests a TCP upload achieved minimal 200 Kbps while a BitTorrent upload achieved maximal 213 Kbps. You can find details here.

* The BitTorrent download worked. Our tool was successful in downloading data using the BitTorrent protocol.

* There's no indication that your ISP rate limits your BitTorrent downloads. In our tests a TCP download achieved minimal 313 Kbps while a BitTorrent download achieved maximal 329 Kbps. You can find details here.

Is BitTorrent traffic on a non-standard BitTorrent port (4711) throttled?

* The BitTorrent upload (seeding) worked. Our tool was successful in uploading data using the BitTorrent protocol.

Is the torrent you are trying to download well seeded? Maybe there simply aren't enough people to give you a good connection, you can only download from others as fast as they can upload.
Try torrenting a Linux Distro, guaranteed to be LOTS of people there.

I thought that at first too. But then I downloaded a couple more torrents, and set them all to download simultaneously. No matter how many torrents I had, and how many seeders, the accumulated download speed would never get anywhere near 45kbps like it has before.

just wondering, where do u actually get torrents? I get mine from demonoid and some other private trackers, you must have been using miniova or the piratebay, and just because there are a lot of seeds doesn't mean ur d/l speed is gonna be fast, peers is more important than seeds. Oh, and btw, the links u posted is not working.

Your max up/down is 45kbps? Thats 5 kilobytes per second (KB/s)? Thats like...mm less than a 56k modem.
Something tells me you mean 45KB/s.

The ISP throttling test isn't necessarily going to tell you if your ISP is throttiling you. Different ISPs deal with it in different ways.
My ISP does packet shaping so my torrents just get an extremely low priority on their network. I can get decent speeds more often and not downloading and then less so with my uploads.
Since my isp does packet shaping it will usually pass throttling tests.

Try downloading some flavor of Ubuntu or Debian to get an idea how fast your download is. Those are ALWAYS well-seeded. Also, there are plenty of ways to throttle bittorrent besides throttling traffic through popular ports. I've had a similar problem, where when I start downloading or uploading torrents, EVERYTHING slows to a crawl bandwidth-wise (I usually get 70Mbps, it drops to less than 200kbps when I'm torrenting). I believe this is simply because my school has torrent-blocking down pat, but it could be something completely different.

Yeah sorry I meant 45KB/s.... But yeah, Ive had 3 different torrents running, each with over 1000 seeders (so says utorrent) all from demonoid, and still I can't get anywhere near 45KB/s like I used to just like 4 days ago.

Just try this: stop all other downloads, download one Linux Distro, observe it the whole time to see what the top rate you hit is

You can also try http://phoenixlabs.org/ and get Peer Guardian 2. Update the P2P (peer-to-peer) list to block off any unwanted IPs that actually just impede your download. Some companies set those up. Try it, you're download should improve.

My ISP passes that test btw i tried it this morning, but I know that the packet shape for sure and specifically hinder torrent uploads.
