Help! Firefox isn't working right

Every time I launch it, Firefox opens, then immediately closes, opens, closes for a whole minute. Then when it finally stays open it deletes my homepage and unsaves all of my addon settings. Halp.

bad luck man. If you have another internet browser, download Firefox again then install it, it should fix any problems. If you don't have another browser, you could try the steam browser, but I'm not sure how that handles downloads. Other than that, im not sure what you can do.

You could probably download the installer from the computer that you started this thread on and transfer it via usb. Good luck.

So best bet is to reinstall? Damn was hoping there might be another solution.

Reinstalling doesn't make you lose anything. It's just a browser, not a big deal to reinstall.


Try right clicking and selecting "run as administrator" and see if that solves the problem. If it does you can select to have it do that every time you open it.

Could be a corrupt or conflicting addon. Theres a mode where you start it with no addons (i think its called safe mode, from the start menu), see if that works

Try this: Go to start, run (or search) and type in %appdata%. Find the Mozilla folder and copy it to a new location, then delete the original. Reinstall Firefox so that you have a default installation and see if that fixes the issue. If not, then you have bigger fish to fry. If so, then you can start copying over your old settings and add-ins from the previous back up of your profile you just made.
