Help me win a argument

my freind says that the new weapons are actually UPgrades(better than the previous).But i am sticking to my idea that they are merely to help the play with more of a variaty for weapon selection.i can clearly see some better weapons like blutsauger or kgb but i beleive you still have some balance here and that the player has more of a variaty to pic from.Can you give me some info ANY at all cause im losing this batlle!!!!!! lol.(BTW we both have tf2 for the 360.....we were talking about what weapons we will use when gettin the new stuff)

Some weapons are trade offs. For the example a Heavy's sandvich isn't really an upgrade of a shotgun. Most give some ability for the exchange of another ability.

The Blutsauger is an upgrade.
The Kritzkreig is a choice, nether one is far more powerful than the other.
The Ubersaw is an upgrade.
The Backburner is worse then the Flamethower for reasons below.
The Flare Gun is considered by many to be weak, however, many others use it. Tough call, therefore it's not a flat out upgrade.
The Axetinguisher is an upgrade.
Natasha is considered weaker than the original Minigun.
The Sandvich is a legitimate choice in pubs, but not so much in pugs.
The KGB is debatable, but the heavy shouldn't get into melee.

Some are upgrades, some are obvious betters.

Hmm... You two are right. Statement changed. The BB is made obsolete by the axe and, you know, skill.
