Not Yet Rated How do YOU do your Rocket Jump???

Can u post urs...... My uber rocket jump is - look down - Hold jump and crouch togerther at the same time (which causes me to jump) - split second later shoot your rocket - keep holding your crouch and jump And thats how i do my uber rocket jump! (when i mean a uber RJ i mean being able to get on top of the metal barrier on the battlements in 2FORT from the ground). Plz and thank you

Lol nah seriously, for height (Gravelpit C jump, 2fort jump) I look down, jump, crouch and shoot (in that order). For distance I stop moving for a split second, jump, crouch, look at the floor behind and right of me, and then shoot.

By varying the amount of 'flick' I can control horizontal and vertical velocity pretty well. I tried scripting them for all of about 2 minutes one game, and it felt horribly unnatural. Au natural is the only way to go.

Join Date: Jan 29, 2008 Post Count: 213   nucnuc User Options View All Posts By nucnuc View nucnuc's Stats   Specialty: Soldier Steam ID: nucnuc Clan: {TF2F let me in please}   I call it the uber rocket jump because I first learned of it a long time ago from a video on youtube (the narrator called it an uber rocket jump) Uber rocket jump: look down, duck, jump, shoot (I use this unless I would die from fall damage) Vanilla rocket jump: look down, shoot, jump Tiny rocket jump: look down, shoot (I almost never use this) Long jump: one of the above, but walking backwards looking down at an angle Other long jump: one of the above, but snap the mouse back after jumping, but before shooting (I usually get a less distance than with the long jump, but I am able to look forward most of the time while doing this)

Then half way through my jump I fire the rocket into the ground. Then as I am about to land the rocket explodes and I fly foward in mid air lol

Although in some places I dont need to go that high so i'll jump crouch. If i have a medic with me and im just doing to keep up and build uber ill only jump and shoot.

Join Date: Oct 15, 2007 Post Count: 800   DurbanPoison User Options View All Posts By DurbanPoison View DurbanPoison's Stats   Specialty: Sniper Clan: {TF2F} Community   I used to use a crouch jump script for this, but I got rid of it, and got used to just using the crouch button when i jump.  Then fire.  If you use your pinky finger for the crouch, and thumb on space, it should be easy to do them nearly simultaneously, with the crouch happening a millisecond before the jump. I have a funky keyboard so i use left shift for crouch.
