How to play the Spy

Well I'll start this off by saying that I am in NO MEANS a great spy, but I have the tactical mind of Napolean. First and foremost, NEVER DISGUISE AS HEAVY. You won't catch anyone and you won't blend in. Next, never ever ever say that the spy is fine as is, he's borked. Always use cloak before you go out into the open, but don't waste it. You have to learn to use your own instincts there. Remember to pull out your revolver against certain classes and when you get caught. It's usually best to fight rather than cloak, unless there are multiple enemies. On certain maps you can do little shortcut things, they usually don't help much but you should learn these. Always have your speedhack button close to your hand so that you can get by all the spam when you're cloaked. It's not cheating, it's just making the spy a little bit better. Sneak back and spawn camp as much as possible, if you see an engy's teleport facing a wall, stand there backstabbing anyone who comes through. If you teammate comes along, shoot it so you get the points. Partner up with a friend on the other team so you can get heals and ubers, and you can top the scoreboard easily. If the enemy team has a good sniper, only go for him. It will help your team a lot more than trying to cap the intel like a no0b. As soon as you hit right mouse to cloak, run around your corner so you conserve it. Those 10 seconds go fast when you have to wait 3 around a corner so just go go go. That concludes my spy tutorial, follow this and you'll be a god.


EDIT: Also, if you need any tips, ask Chro. He invented the spy class and GMan used to look up to him.

I disagree with a couple of things.  I find that almost nobody catches me when I'm a Heavy unless I act suspicious or stay in the enemies area too long.  The same as any other class.  But, almost nobody uses Heavy, so I'm less suspect.  As long as I get in, do my job and get out quick I'm fine with that disguise. 

I loled at shoot with your teammates for points and team up with an enemy for Healing and Ubers.

I think Chro just came when he read that last part.

I heard the Spy sucked until Chro played it.

If you can see Chro, you won't know it's him. If you can't see Chro you're only seconds away from getting back-stabbed.
