How to survive the TF2F forums - 14th Edition

In order to make it easier for people to know what the rules of the forums are, I've complied a nice list of things you should try to avoid in triplicate. I know its long, but it might actually save your life...or your forum account. Read on, broskis. - Threads with no clear topic or point will be locked and OP will be warned in the thread, including Squigs. Squigs, if you get multiple warnings about forums behavior, you will get a strike. See the strike sticky in the private threads. - Threads with the intent of bashing a person, clan, group or type of person will be locked and OP will be warned in the thread, including Squigs. - Threads with a majority of off topic replies will likely be locked and off topic repliers will be warned. Constant abusers will be dealt with with either a temp or permanent ban. - Contribute meaningful discussion to threads. If there is nothing meaningful to contribute to the thread, do not post. Obviously, 'meaningful' is subjective, so for our purposes, as long as the reply is relevant to the OP you should be OK. - Do not flame or troll other posters. Ignore disagreeable comments. - Keep threads on topic. No one wants their thread to steer off topic because of random conversations, including us. This means don't spam that don't fit personal criteria or because the feeling is that the thread is 'over' for any reason. Do not post irrelevant memes, random pictures, quote strings, or other types of spam. You CAN post pics and memes, but they must be on topic. Try to avoid pics that are not NSFW and if you do decide to post it, make it a link with a (NSFW) warning on it. Do not embed directly into the thread. If you're not sure if it's NSFW, it probably is NSFW. - Do not start or encourage forum drama. If there is a problem with another clan member or regular, talk to them one on one, and if that doesn't resolve the problem, talk to an admin. Try to observe the golden rule of forum posting "If I can't say something nice, don't say it on the forums" - Punishment for issues concerning forum misbehavior is subject to the admin. It could be just a warning or a strike may be issued to the offender. The only people who should have a say in how someone is punished on the forums are the admins and the people being punished. Concerns about punishment will be heard. If something was unclear or there was bias, then yes of course, we will talk. -NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW. Squigs, Admins, forumites. If someone's breaking these rules, please let one of the admins who are not the offending party know. Help us help you enjoy the forums, the servers, and the community. -In response to questions about trolling and necroing in Forum Games threads, Forum Games section of the website is not as heavily moderated as the other sections of the website. HOWEVER, this does not mean that we want the Wild West out there. Do not necro multiple threads within days, grief others intentionally, or otherwise break any of the rules being stated above. There will be times when admins might necro a thread (i.e a old sticky).
