I beat Portal!

Just the basic game, not any of the bonus stuff.

But I gotta say, it's pretty awesome. The puzzles are sweet [looking forward to the more challenging bonus maps], and overall it's well done. It's pretty funny at parts, too.

Hopefully they'll be adding more and more stuff to it, or maybe they'll let us create our own stuff? I could see tons and tons of replay value, if that's the case.

That was crazy fast. Insane.

Two and a half hours. The game is insanely addictive, so you breeze right through it.

Well, I wouldn't say breeze... those last levels are KILLER.

I also beat the main game in one sitting. Probably 3 hours here.

Gonna savor those bonus maps... Hopefully they'll release more of them later.

I love Portal!

I started playing portal around 3 AM ... I had the main story beaten by about 6 AM .... after a 30 min commute (On the INTERSTATE HIGHWAY) that I was not awake for and should not have survived, and an AMP energy drink ... it is now 8 AM, I am sitting at my desk at work and my brain is trying to escape through my ear in search of cake.

So, does the game contain much story? or is it just "your a test subject. we will drop you in our test area and see what happens".. Some background story really would be stuff...

.....you know, that anyone who spoilers a great ending will brutally be cuddled to death!

Not finished yet, but the game is amazing!  At first I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the gun... (those who have played the first few missions know exactly what I'm talking about).  But once you get further you have no worries.

So far there is no story.  But the humor is spot on with Valve.  Did anyone see the secret room in the "companion cube" level?  Hahaha, go check it out if you haven't, it's behind the piston arm on the wall.

There are a few huge hints thrown in tying Portal to HL1 ... like the news clippings in Eli's lab, you have to look for them, but they're there,  but like anything in the Half Life universe, there's a whole ton of stuff that goes unexplained.

About 3 hours or so. So fun and funny and mysterious. The charge on my mouse battery got to 0% during the last bit, took me a moment to realize it wasn't the game but my mouse. I can't wait for the character to show up in later Half-Life episodes/sequels. I also look forward to possible future content. There's an IMPORT button found in the Bonus menu, so I will assume user-created content is encouraged.

One note, you miss some fun things, nothing *too* important, if you set your textures too low so keep this in mind.
