Ideas, Stratagies, and Tips for using the new Heavy Weapons....*SPOILERS* (if you haven't checked the Heavy Update webpage yet)

This'll be much more useful once people are using this stuff; but we'll at least be able to prepare ourselves with this thread a bit; before it's used to describe experiences and common (or perhaps not so common) stratagies.

Here's what I think of how easy it is to counter Natascha:

Now, we don't really know just HOW much Natascha slows people down yet...but considering windup time, and general range of the Minigun weapons, it's not going to be that useful except in moderately sized spaces that allow the Heavy the lack of distance, and the time for preparation he needs.

Otherwise the Heavy utilizing Natascha is either highly vulnerable to Snipers/Soldiers in a large area; and Pyros in a more enclosed area.

In the moderately sized areas where this is most valuable (places where incoming enemies can be detected with enough time left for sufficient wind-up), Demomen/Heavies (with Sasha)/Soldiers/Spies will still be able to counter them without to much trouble.

And my general views on the Killing Gloves of Boxing:

Definitely something that looks fun.
Will do good with the Heavies theme of figuring out the situation; is it a good time to use the KGBs or just the Shotgun?  (I'm assuming your not in a good postition to use a minigun)
Would you be able to use the 5-second Kritz in your current postion?
Considering what enemy/enemies is/are attacking you, would you have enough time to use the KGBs?

Those are my ideas for now...

Natascha's Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Slows enemy players.
  • Teamwork comes more naturally.
  • Spychecking with a single shot is plausible.
Cons:
  • Lowered damage.
  • Sasha Heavy's have a higher chance of killing you.
  • Level 3 Sentries become even more ridiculous to kill.

Best Used Against:
  • Demoman ~ Retreating while lobbing at you won't work as well.
  • Scouts ~ No more overwhelming speed to ruin your aim.
  • Pyro ~ Circle-strafe just got gimped.
  • Medic ~ NATASCHA NEEDS MORE BLOOD
  • Soldier ~ Watch them crawl at a snails pace!
Avoid Using Against:
  • Engineer ~ You need damage to overwhelm his sentry repairing.
  • Sniper ~ They're mostly stationary to begin with.
  • Heavy ~ Sasha Heavy will own your butt.

What do you guys think? :|

Depending on how long the slow lasts it may be viable to slow an enemy down and weaken them, pull out the KGB for the crit bonus, and then pull Natascha back out while the crits negate the damage reduction.

I think you're wrong about soldier: A simple rocket jump will zip them off to safety with no problems.

I wonder how much of a difference it will make against a normal heavy, right now whoever winds up first wins without outside influence, I'm going to try and figure out how many seconds you need to wind up before them to still win the fight, with and without a medic. That will probably be the first thing I do.

QFT.
Except I think it will be even better against a heavy medic combo with sasha that you get the drop on. Normally there was a small chance for them to be able to escape because of the huge amount of health they have but now they will basically be running as fast as a reved heavy.

I think Natascha should give you a 50+ health boost for ambushing enemies so they can't escape

I see no sacasm indicators in that sentence.

annnnywaaays! back on topic. I feel like this weapon would be very underpowered against heavies with sasha.
