I'm sure we all know by now as a means of DRM Blizzard is not incorporating LAN play in StarCraft 2. Well, here's a good way to get their attention

The reason that there's no LAN in SC2 is because China currently pirates the crap out of the game without fear of legal repercussions. This is done through a loop hole resulting in huge 'lan' networks that isn't actually LAN using invalid copies of SC.

If you want to blame someone for this, you can actually blame the communists.

I never played starcraft, but even I know that Starcraft grew so much BECAUSE of the LAN feature. To be able to get hundreds of people together to play, and not have to pay hundreds of not thousands of dollars for a suitable internet connection that would support that many people, is what LAN is all about.

Now they expect you to have an internet connection for each and every one of the people in the lan at all times. Sure, 6 or 7 people in your basement and your Time Warner Cable connection will be fine. But if your organizing a tournament and have over 100 people there, your going to have to pay for a dedicated highspeed line, if not more.

Blizzard is stupid for this.

Quite stupid about it, sad seeing them take this route but as a company it really wont affect them much. Money my boy, they are a business afterall.

Sad though, they are doing the same with D3 btw too. Man I miss playing D2 lan with buddies sometimes, was very fun off of bnet with friends.

Well, apparently bnet is going to be so good, we won't want to play on LANs. Mayhaps they fixed all the lag problems? Maybe? We can only hope.

As a rehabilitated WoWbie, I trust Blizzard about as far as they can throw me.
