In order for members to help other members solve their technical support issues, you must provide the information required in order to solve it. "TF2 doesnt launch pls help" wont get you anywhere. You need to provide system info, a hijackthis! log to show what applications you are running, and any other information, such as a screenshot.

In order to provide this information, follow these steps.

Before continuing, be sure you have read and understand the Common Fixes and FAQ page.

Step 1: Get a dxdiag Log
A dxdiag log provides us with your system information. From what part you have in your system to the system manufacturer, it contains the information needed to help you fix your problem.

  • Click Start -> Run and type "dxdiag" without quotes. Push OK
  • The DirectX Diagnostic Tool will launch
  • In the lower right hand corner, push the button that says "Save All Information"
  • Wait while it gathers your system information and exports it to a text file. Save the output file as "DxDiag.txt" to your desktop.
  • Option 1: Upload the exported file to an upload site
  • Option 2: Open up the saved file
  • Copy the text from the first line to where it has the words "Video Accel:" Paste the text here. it should look something like this:

These are not automatically updated (not yet at least, until service pack 1).  These solved a problem i had with my notebook running Vista. Also, make sure you have the latest video drivers!

Your screen "stopping" is what we in the biz call "lag".

An Nvidia 6000 isn't nearly enough to run TF2, even on the lowest settings, not without doing some tweaking with scripts and such.  Fortunately for you, one of our members has posted a legitimate script that will help your game run much faster at a severe graphical price.  I warn you:  the game will look like shit, but you'll be able to play with a minimum of machine induced lag.

Go to this thread and follow the instructions given exactly to the letter.
