Whats up guys. I come to you in hope that I can find modders (game modder, web designer, and possibly graphic artist) to pull out what will be THE mod for TF2. I will play role of Team Manager and oversee all mod development, and if there is anything I need to learn how to do to complete the project, I will.

I have whipped up a quick list of what I'd like to see in the mod. Here is the gist of what the mod will consist of:

Game based mods:

    Prone ability

Level based modifications:

Launch pads: straight up to get up to another level or diagonal launches
Landing pads: for bigger jumps, landing areas allow you to land with 0 damage taken
        - mathematically sized halfway between no directional influence and full directional influence
Portals: like teleporters from ENGs but always up
        - possibly hackable by spies

Power Ups:

    Crit spree
    Stealth
    Regen
2x jump (twice as high, or 2 jumps if we can get that from scout)

Class modifications:

    Scout

        - Speed Burst
            > 3 second duration
            > 60 second cooldown

        - Binoculars/Thermogoggles

    Soldier

        - Rocket Jump
            > doesn't hurt himself
            > able to launch teammates / everyone is effected
            > crits do normal damage to himself

        - Uber
            > once taken enough damage, can uber himself to do all crit rockets
            > same duration as medic uber

    Pyro

        - Gasoline bullets in shotgun
            > ignitable with flamethrower for bonus damage

        - Fire Trap
            > similar to demo stickies, bursts into flames to set people on fire

        - Drop tank
            > able to drop napalm tank to shoot with shotgun and blow up

    Demoman

        - Throwable grenade
            > like in trailer

        - Molotov Cocktail
            > the name says it all

        - Cluster bomb
            > just like regular nade launcher, but bursts into smaller bombs

        - Like rocket jumps, doesn't hurt self from

    Engineer

        - Portable dispenser
            > close to no cost
            > heals more slowly than regular dispenser
            > regens supplies more slowly than regular dispenser
            > can be picked up

Looks like you need a coder. Most of the stuff you state can be easily edited or added through text. the other stuff are not too hard models to make. Good luck

Also, imo, this could easily be a one man job. You just need to know some programming, i think the Source engine uses C but i'm not sure. The models you wish to make are fairly simple and not too elaborate.

All of these sound like wonderful ideas.
I've seen + mods for lots of games and to have these additions would mean lots of handymen. Mainly, one who can work with coding, another to work on character/weapon modeling and textures.
But this mod of empowerment to each class sounds like it should also have to be decided upon the server administrators on what they find suitable for a fair fight with no exploitation from any class. You may need to work on the probability for some of your ideas a little more, but for others, they seem more than needed.

If you're lucky, someone will come and help you with this.

Good luck on improving perfection! lol

Im not trying to put a damper on your enthusiasm, just a reality check here:

IMO TF2 is superb in every way.  #1 being balanced, which is going to be really friggen hard to maintain once you start tinkering with added abilities.  Not to mention everytime VALVe comes out with an update your mod will probably break.   Unless you make an entirely new mod like Insurgency.  But you're talking about TF2+ mod.

Believe me, Ive been through this.  Have you ever heard of the DoDS:RPG mod?
Check it out here We have a very gifted coder (StrontiumDog) in our ranks over at theville and we all put in lots of time playtesting and debugging it.  And that was for a game wasnt getting any updates... and it still had its fair share of hiccups.  I cant imagine the head ache trying to mad for a game that changes every week.

Kudos and good luck on your quest.... it will be long

source game code is written in c++.

I don't get how people can say that its a short job for a programmer, that's quite a bit of work....

If you create a mod, you're generally going to want to do it with your own original assets and character designs.

It's taken a LONG time for TF2 to be as well balanced as it is - when you add new weapons to the classes, you will soon realize how bad some of those ideas are.  It will throw off the entire game of TF2.

I suggest adapting this to a different theme and then pitching those ideas to a mod that already exists.  Putting together a team of developers and artists and developing an entire mod for free - without paying people who are obviously qualified enough to make money doing what they do - is a daunting and almost impossible task.  Most mod concepts have a .0001% of actually being realized.

I'm trying to recreate The Hunted the way I envision it.  I've even offered to pay people to help with the project, and I have about 5k to pay out.  No one qualified enough seems interested.

I really appreciate all the comments guys! i still hold out on hope that the right people will read this and support my ideas and the project will go thru as planned.

splinter: the bullets will hit the person, be flammable, THEN you set them on fire. i think u got the idea that they would be lit on fire in the air?
