This will wipe your drive without forcing you to boot into windows. After the drive is clean and formatted, you can install XP again. This is the easiest way to do it. Just use the Gparted utility included on the disk. If you need a Gparted tut, I can provide you a link.
Alright how do I use that exactly?
I downloaded the sysrec.iso file and then copied it over onto a cd-rom, but it won't let me boot directly to it. And since I can't access my CD-ROM while Windows XP is up I inturn can't access it while in windows.

Yes Safe mode is accessible, no using it doesn't enable CD-ROM nor does it enable internet access.

Is there something unique about chkdisk /f or is that what you'd normally get via right-clicking and choosing to use the chkdisk?
