My comp isn't really a gaming rig, so I configured TF2 to run on DirectX 8 and now it works fine even with all my addons and max settings. Just one problem: The intel suitcase for CTF maps is jet-black. Is there any way to fix this, or do I just have to put up with it?

Here's a screenshot and the dxdiag:

Racist.
Just kidding.  I would assume that perhaps it is due to running in DX 8 mode.  Whatever the issue it looks like the item is rendering, but not the skin.

While the Driver Attributes state Final Retail, try to un-install, re-install your video drivers.

Also, you are using Vista, an OVER the necessary, try going back to windows xp, and for some really awesome usage of your dual core, try Windows 98 dcx update.
and on a final side note, you are using your default Plug&play monitor recognition, NVIDIA could have its issues, try to get the brand/model of your monitor, and inform the system, many small bugs could be fixed by that.

It's defiantly not a Directx8 issue since I used to play in that mode and the intel was just fine.

Actually I'd leave it as is.  I think the black case is freakin' sweet looking.

Well, I was thinking that too. I can't discern what team it belongs to, because it's black, but it does look cool. I may leave it as-is.

If you are in Red's intel room.. it's should be Red's.. if it's been picked up and dropped.. you should have an indicator over top of it showing what team's it is.
