After killing a bit in the servers, I'd like to know, do you think that the Axtinguisher is overpowered? While playing and talking in vent, some people likely think that the Axtinguisher is OP, I'd just like to know the community's opinion as a whole. Thank you.

Compared to the normal axe I'd say it is, but not in comparison with other classes.

it is still only a melee weapon afterall

Well, a melee weapon almost guaranteeing an insta-kill. I find that having 175 health, it is quite easy to get in range to do an axe kill.

I don't think it's op, but i definetly think that the fireaxe, ubersaw and fists need some kind of effect of their own. Though they have better stats overall (not incuding the powerful effects of the new melee generation), at this point, no one who has the new, uses the old, it's not that their that bad, but melee weapons have always been more for fun for over half the classes (obviously the spy and engie need their's for instance), but the new actually can be devistating in certain situations, and come on, the old ones just look boring at this point....They either need to be more desirable (i mean come on, the ubersaw is just plain better, who needs faster swing, it's already the toughest melee in the game), or better to look at, or both.

Considering how, in the first few months after the release of the game, the pyro's flamethrower was a bit underpowered for a so-called "ambush" class, he needed a close-range boost. It is completely true that the axetinguisher is not a fair trade-off (alternative) to the regular fire axe, but to say that it is overpowered in respect to the entire game as a whole, I cannot agree.
To let a pyro, 175hp class with no long range capability (shove it, flare gun weilders), get up close or behind you, light you on fire, take the time to switch weapons, and get a melee hit on you and whine when you die is pretty ridiculous considering that in most other situations a pyro is at a great disadvantage. Of course, you could have been aware, turned around, juggled him with your rocket and killed him with a second shot, but since you didn't, the pyro worked pretty hard for that kill and deserves it. (The same can be said if you are a Demo or Heavy, though other classes have little business going toe-to-toe with a pyro.)
Theres my two silvers. (Since i'm not cheap)

I quite disagree. When I switched to the Axetinguisher, I found myself using the Shotgun less and less, to the point where Puff and Sting became my primary weapon against high-hp classes. With the newfound power of the Flamer, the air blast, as well as the reduced damage dropoff, I found myself either burning my foes to death or airblasting them and bringing the so-called hammer down on them with my fancy new axe. Acknowledging my disuse, I switched to the Flaregun, and have used it to take potshots ever since. Caught unawares, I can ignite any class at middling range with the inflammable cartidge of my flare, and then split them down the middle with my axe. Not to mention that the Flare is an effective "pester" weapon, useful for making Snipers curse me and lone Heavies fear me.

no, hell no, a big HELL NO!
You don't want me to unleash the rage on anyone that claims any part of the Pyro is overpowered so all you get is a NO, IT'S NOT OVERPOWERED.
