I want to play competitively

But where do i start? Anyone?

I play atleast 3 hours on tf2 a day, and on weekends or on fridays, when i'm not with friends, i can spend atleast 8 hours sitting on the comp.

question is, are you any good?!

Come to the saturday/sunday pickup games (2pm EST on the tf2f ventrilo server). Hang out in the 6v6 tf2 pickup IRC channel that was posted about earlier. Join a clan.

Wait, how do i join? I live in Florida (USA) and how do i get onto a ventrilo server? And i am better than most people on public servers, but then again, who isn't?

I participated in the Sunday PUG, and that is as close as you can get. (They're fun too!)

Vent is an excellent way to set up competitive play or talk with other people on the servers.

All you need to do is download the Ventrilo client from their website (Google it), and then on the top right of the TF2F page there is a drop-down link labeled "Vent Server Info".

The server is passworded right now, all you need to do is ask someone with TF2F tags or a regular on the servers over Steam and I'm sure someone will give you it.

I got invited to join a newly formed clan where all members were beginners.

If you dont get invited I recommend that you play on some public servers from different clans and try to get to know some clan members. 
Then you might be able to join them in a pcw (practice clan war) aainst some other clan if they dont have enough players. We invite some public players we know to join us in our pcws quite often.
You should begin by trying to know some people from some low skills clans. The higher skilled clans will usually not invite outsiders if they are not sure they are very skilled.

If you know some people you could also try to start a clan by your own.

It is really a totally different game when you play competitively. Usually much harder, but much more rewarding.
When I started I thought I was quite good because I was doing good on public. Then we played our first pcw's and got totally crushed...
It was like being the mega noob again.. :-)

Tbh, the easiest way will be #tf2pickup on IRC, assuming you are good enough.
