Gentlemen and why not ladies as well.

Last summer I made Spy unlock guide video for Youtube and a week after I had uploaded it I made topic about it in the official forums.
It was received so well that I was asked to do sniper unlock guide. So I did, and I plan to do videos for all the other unlocks as well.

My goal is to provide basic info about the new unlocks as I play all of the classes and know how their unlocks work. Spy is my favorite class though.

The point of the unlock guides is to show new players to TF2 to get to know the ropes of the unlocks. People who have just bought TF2 will play and see weapons they don't have access to yet and when they do they don't know how they work and how they should be used. These guides are meant to help beginner TF2 players to get to know the ropes of the new weapons.

So here's the list for currently available videos.

Keep in mind that I'm from Finland, so my English is not perfect.

  • Scout - Force-A-Nature, Bonk! Atomic Punch and The Sandman - Not Done
  • Engineer - ???, ??? and ??? - Unlocks not released
  • Soldier - ???, ??? and ??? - Unlocks not released
  • Demoman - ???, ??? and ??? - Unlocks not released

Edit: I don't like this forum software.

I guess it was a copypaste from another forum and ours, as unique and special as it is, did not compute.
I've seen the earlier mess.

Oh I understand that. People have been copy-pasting their work onto our forums for a while

The reason I wondered why he disliked it is because it looks almost exactly like his Steam forum post

Like fluffy stated the codes pasted on the forums all needed to be re done and even then it was a lot of pain because the software was highlighting things I didn't select.

I watched a lot of movies when I was a kid. I learned most of the English alphabets when I didn't even know a word of English. Thus I have lost my Finnish accent when I speak English. Now it sounds like bastard child of American accents - I hear.

Your videos are well edited and I can tell you put some effort into them.  I've only watched the heavy and spy editions so far though.  I have been kind of trying to make my point on youtube, but I'll say it again here.   I really think you are pointing newbies down the wrong path with the heavy video.  The spy video was pretty good, but again, the C&D is just a class crutch 90% of the time.  You should have compared and contrasted the unlocks to the defaut weapons in these videos imo.

edit: Pyro video

I'm trying to have unbiased view about the unlocks (even though I did fall into that pit with the razorback bit - now hopefully fixed with the annotations). "This unlock sux becuz it turns TF2 into newb mode" doesn't help anyone and I will not go there.

Telling how it works and in what the unlock does best however does. All with some added tips.

Comparing the unlocks to default weapons is just proving the point that this unlock is designed to favor this kind of play style while this favors this kind of play style - which all to me is too obvious to state most of the time. Huntsman vs sniper rifle for example - one can clearly see that the one is meant to shoot stuff in long range and other can do better job at close range. That's how they are used, they are different.
