I was just wondering if any of you guys would use the Kritzkrieg over the normal medigun in competitive matches. I have used it once before in a match and it worked quite well, but I don't know if i should keep using it? Also what do you think is the best class to kritzkrieg? And any other tips for using it.

As everyone always says it is a situational weapon...it depends on the map, the number of players, and the league your in. Some maps are better then others for the kritz. You just have to take it match by match and chose the one that fits with the strategy of your team. Don't only use one or the other. You have to really learn the strengths and weaknesses of each on every map that you play. It can also depend on what the opponent is using.

There are some off-the-wall strategies where Kritz is utilized, but uber is favored over Krtizkrieg in most push maps for several reasons.

For one, you have to use your Kritz quickly and aggressively in order for it to benefit you. Otherwise, if the enemy has an ubercharge your Kritz will be worthless. Considering how slowly paced your attacks will be, it's difficult to keep the proper momentum going without having your team end up separated.

The ubercharge also keeps the Medic from dying when he's in danger of getting killed, which is very important.

It does work, just not as well as an ubercharge does. The longevity of your team is more assured with an ubercharge at hand.

Also, when it comes to classes, it doesn't really matter who. If you can, switch your target once the one you're healing runs out of rockets/pipes/stickies/etc. so you can get as many critical hits off as possible.

like nekped said 9/10 times you want to regular uber over the kritz but if you want  to surprise the enemy with a faster charge then is the only time imo you should use it.

Also, Crits can be used to kill Medics before they have a chance to pop Uber

But yeah, generally Uber is used

yes uber is used more, but Kritz are sometimes used as a surprise tactic, or in smaller maps like granary where there aren't very many places to run to and where the lack of set up time means you'll always have the kritz ready b4 the uber.
If you are going to kritz some1, it's a soldier or a demo. Kritz stickies are insane, dawg!!!!!

In general pubbin play a Pyro can be a decent uber, but is a pretty lousy Kritz.

I don't know how competitive you consider the PUGS, but I often go with kritz soldier in them.  With a good soldier, it pwns.

1. Pop within the 5~9 secs you get it.
2. Give it to a demo
3. If you have a kriz uber available and if the team medic did not pop his uber nor dead, then you're doing it wrong
4. Pop it ~5 secs faster than you would with a uber since the medic and krizing target are vulnerable
5. During the mid battle, play extra safe than you would with a uber gun medic.

Things that have to go perfectly for a KK to work on a map like cp_granary:
  1. Your sollies are in red/highly damaged the whole time you are walking to mid
  2. Once you finish buffing your demo and roamer you split at your yard and go to the right with your pocket
  3. NO ONE can see you (if anyone sees a combo coming out of garage, they know they KK is coming and their combo will back out and get the Uber)
  4. Push out onto the combo even if you're 89% charged, you will have to pop as soon as you get it (thats the whole idea of the KK)
  5. CAN'T stress enough the VERY FIRST rocket HAS to be a crit one, its all about the surprise, and the 1st rocket is by far the most important one, many could argue that if you miss the Med with the 1st rocket, you gotta bail b/c that Uber is coming in less than 5 secs.
  6. You hit the Med with the crit rocket, and hopefully his pocket. At this point its all about survival and less about getting 1 more lucky kill with the last 14% of your charge. (don't forget you are open to 2 shots from scouts and spam the whole time you're kritting!)
  7. The rest of your team cleans up, scouts push out to yard and start capping 4 while you finish capping mid.
  8. Your pocket should be charging you up this whole time, and by the time 4 is capped you push last with a KK that hopefully damages enough ppl that your team can clean up and you cap. 1-0 your team

So those are 8 things that HAVE to go right for the KK to be effective in a comp setting. I would honestly say that the average 6v6 team has a 20% chance off all the stars aligning and you getting that perfect krtiz, and thats way too low of a number if you are serious about comp.

I know its a long post but I really wanted to point all this out b/c I think the avg person doesn't know this, and knowing this will help you practive it or defend against it. 8 things need to go right for your kritz to be effective, and Uber can adapt to ANYTHING that happens at mid, be it a suiciding demo or 2 scouts flanking etc. There is just way too much that can go wrong while using the KK. Keep it for casual PUGs or HIghlanders, Uber works in your favor all the time, 100% of the time
