Are Valve suddenly unable to send out DLC? You're right to be skeptical.

sounds basically like an expansion pack. Odd thing for valve to do. Seems like it should just be Left 4 Dead : The South Will Rise or something, not a whole shiny TWO.

Let's look at the facts.

*L4D has been updated using DLC to give a whole new gamemode. Weapons, gamemodes, bosses, new characters, could all be added in a DLC.
*DLC packages have shown in TF2 to generate new profit without the need for a costly expansion pack a la The Sims 2.
*L4D has been out less than 9 months. 9 friggin' months? If you conceived when L4D was released you'd still be carrying the baby.
*Valve are already working on Portal 2 and HL2:Episode 3 (supposedly)
*Valve don't work this fast. Period.
*There is nothing on their L4D blog.
*The cover infected doesn't look to fit the L4D style. Neither to be honest do the survivors displayed.

I call shenanigans.

If I'm wrong... well... Valve will be going the EA route.
