L4D Tank Stratgey

Been playing a lot of L4D this weekend, and I think I've come up with a pretty decent stratgey against AI Tanks.  It does require a bit of team work, but I think it would work pretty well.  Have one team member draw the Tank's agro so it begins to give chase.  The other members follow shooting.  One of the team members needs to get close enough to the Tank to melee it as it chases the first team member.  Usually one or two melee hits will steal the agro and get the Tank to start chasing you instead.  Now you run away while the other team members open fire, then come into mele and steal the agro.  Keep doing that till the Tank drops.

Moltovs make everything tons easier.

That seems to be a good strat. Also, as long as you have room to run, a person with near full health can actually outrun a tank when he's pelting the tank with bullets. So have your teammates follow, and you should take it down somewhat quickly.

A green survivor can outrun a tank (even backpeddling), especially if the tank is being shot. (Slows speed down.) So no need to take the risk of getting swiped by trying to swap aggro.

In order to win against a tank make sure one of your team-mates has an auto-shotty. Preferably, 2 people with auto shotties. They are cheese if your team can handle 'em right.

Also, lure him in front of the gattling gun.

Or just run away, seeing as he dies if he doesn't see you for a certain amount of time.

One time I kited a tank with my entire team dead up and down the escalators of the beta level for 45 seconds on expert. Man was it awesome.

Pump him full of holes with rifle and autoshotty until killed.

Don't hide behind a car.

Tanks can knock over some cars.  Cars that are knocked can hit you, doing significant damage.
It's fun as hell to throw one into a person and watch them crumple

I hate tanks. Does melee really do more damage than shooting it?

I find autoshotties and assault rifles do the trick nicely.
