The April Fools post on TF2.com was no joke, not only is the Sniper getting the next class update (as was revealed afterwards), but you'll be getting a jar of piss tossed in your face as well.

Jarate is going to be the Killtaunt for the Sniper.

As of yet it is unknown what item it will be associated with, but rest assured pressing G (the default key for taunting) will trigger an animation of our psudo-Australian friend pulling out a large container of whizz and letting it fly.

Expect it to have a range that would be unlimited were it not for the fact that Jars of Piss tend to be affected by Gravity.

An Arcing effect that is somewhat more than that of the Needleguns will probably be what you'll see come the Sniper Update.

Still think it's a joke? If you look at the TF2.com blog, you'll see that VALVe never said anything about it being such.

April Fools no more, get ready to start practicing your Jarate skills so that you can pull off some of those all too awesome (and infuriating) Tauntkills.

ummm....that's what makes it an April Fools Day joke, man... and if your only logic is "they never said it wasn't real", you're only going to get flamed.

ummm....that's what makes it an April Fools Day joke, man... and if your only logic is "they never said it wasn't real", you're only going to get flamed.

Companies have a habit of telling people that something was a joke after April Fools Day is over...VALVe merely reinforced that as being an actual preview by saying the Sniper update is next.

Sorry, just a quick remark

: anything would have a virtually unlimited range if gravity didn't affect those objects. i.e., something will tend to keep its current speed unless a force is applied on it.

I have to think that this is a pretty large assumption on your part, as not only do you not have proof of such consistencies (which you'd never get, considering they likely don't exist) and even state yourself that it's a habit, not definate. I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm saying that you're not giving us any reason to think you're right.

If the Jarate is a kill taunt, then I don't expect it to have that much of a range. Certainly not as much range as a needle. All of the other kill taunts were either melee or very limited range (heavy POW taunt). Having a kill taunt with any sort of significant range would make it a bit too OP (in the realm of kill taunts).
