Now that the people who wanted increased passive regen for the needler are rejoicing, I have to ask:

Would you guys go with needler or blut?

I already changed my loadout to needler, just wanted to see what was out there.

I'm not seeing where you get the nerf. The blutsauger is the same as before. They buffed the needle gun. Yes, they added -2 regen to the blut, but they also increased minimum regen by 2, so it balances out to no net change. I'm going to try both. I don't decide based on update notes, I want to try it out and see what is actually more useful. This is of course assuming that negative regen only exists while the blut is out is a mistake, which I don't think is what they intended. If it isn't a mistake, blut is still better.

I was playing on our server earlier and it looks like they changed it: now having the blut equipped does the -2 to regeneration, regardless whether or not you have it out.

That said, I still haven't done enough playing with both to decide whether or not to stick with the blutsauger. I've found that the regular syringe gun is nifty because now your health recovers a lot quicker than it used to. As long as you're not too reliant on needling, it actually seems viable to use. Of course, the blutsauger still has the advantage of being able to recover a ton of health faster by shooting someone with a bunch of its needles.

Clegg what he was talking about was that at the time of posting the blut -2h/s wasn't in effect. You were getting buffed regen and +3 h/needle.  So it was kind of dumb. Idk if Valve hotfixed it.
Assuming they fix everything, I'll test both out; but probably stick with Syringe.

Oh, I didn't know it gave you both I thought people said you only got the -2 when you had the blutsauger out. Like I said, though, last time I played you got the -2 recovery when you had the blut equipped and it was working the way Valve intended.

I stick with the blut. It's better to be recharging +3 per shot on that goddamn motherfucking scout that came out of nowhere than to try to rely on the constant, yet slow recharge of the syringe. (Even though I usually am that goddam motherfucking scout )

To me it seems that the syringe is better for medics who occasionally catch a stray bullet or get caught by a rocket's splash damage, but the blut outclasses it when the medic is on his own having to defend himself to stay alive against medic hunting scouts

Regen amount increase since time of last damage decreased from 3x to 2x

End result of above: Old healing scaled from 1/sec to 3/sec based on time since being damaged (maxed out at 10 seconds). New healing scales from 3/sec to 6/sec

IS it just me or is that a huge mega wtf nerf?

If i read it right, I won't even go bacvk to medic as scout (unless there is no one else alive)

You aren't reading it right.....

It used to be that after you didn't get damaged for a certain amount of time you'd go from regenning 1h/s to 3h/s.  Now if you're regenning 3/sec and don't get hurt for that same amount of time you regen 6/sec.  A smaller coefficient but a bigger product.  Buff.  Unless maybe you're using the blut. Then maybe you'll only get 2/s after that amount of time because 1*2=2.

Yeah I was reading it wrong because a friend copy and pasted the thing to show me the patch and it got morphed and stuff in the text box.
