The recent patch pyro got the ability to extinguish other players who are on fire. This may or may not change the pyro. Evedently this makes killing other pyros that much more important. It also is encouraging teamwork as AB extinguishes flames(do i need to explain the advantages of this). Though what other changes may result from this.
My take is killing other pyros becomes that much more important. So weapons like the shotgun/fireaxe will become more popular(i liked being the only one

). As well heading deep into enemy territory will benefit people more as to get a better shot at killing these pyros. And with the spy update coming out. Mortal enemies turned awe-inspiring teammates. Spy will take care of pyro/medic/sentry, while pyro cleans up. And if the spy needs to get away but is on fire... No problem. Obviously a small change and one that W+M1ers won't even give a second look. But this obviously opens up more oppurtunity to those who pay more attention.
*EDIT: Realized title may appear unclear to some, so here goes:
Pyro has always had a defensive side to him, hence his Ambush/Support style o' gameplay. This here adds more to the support aspect of his playstyle. Changing what people expect a pyro to do as a part of the team.
Also an added point to make, the BB has always been considered lesser to the Flamer. This patch recently made it almost not compare. The BB represented the pre-patch ambush 'n kill style. Yet it seems as if this way to play is becoming even more and more obsolete. So you must wonder, what does valve have in store for the pyro in later updates.*
