Need Help on Side-Wall Rocketjumps

I've been playing soldier heaps recently, and I've got a decent grip on standard jumps, distance jumps and I'm ok at flick-wall jumps (if the wall is behind me). Only one problem: jumping off walls to my right or my left as I walk past them. 

Well, let's say that you have a wall to your right.
You turn 90 degrees to face the wall and hold left strafe (so that you move in your original direction).
Then you duck-jump and fire a rocket slightly to the right and down at the wall (that is almost 180 degree backwards from your original walking direction). Somewhere slightly above where the wall hits the ground is usually nice. 
When you start flying, keep holding left strafe and let go of your forward button (at least until you have turned in the air and are facing the driection you want to fly.).

All of this you do pretty quickly since you cannot left strafe for a long time if the wall is very short.
