Hey F*gs

I read about juggling enemies into the air with the rocket launcher, i even watched a short clip about it, but somehow i never managed to do that. I have a few questions for those who can do it right:

1. Is it a "plannable" maneuver, just plain luck if it works or anything in between.
2. Where do i have to hit someone to airjug him
3. what classes are juggleable
4. how about ubered players
5. any ressources, tutorials, videos about it that you know?

(ps: F*gs = inside joke)

start with one fairly light object then practice the motions until it feels right, then move on to two... oh

1 it's plannable in the sense that you can consciously decide that juggling might be good in [situation A]
it's not plannable in the sense that you can say i'm going to go into the enemy base and juggle some guy
basically it's something you have to decide as you line up the shot, so any specific juggling act will probably take place on a subconscious level

2 at their feet works the best... although with faster classes or with any amount of range this becomes increasingly difficult

3 I think everyone can be juggled as long as you can hit under their feet, although with a heavy there isn't much height, so its more of a bounce than a juggle

4 yes, but the panic of an ubered pyro (or what-have-you) charging me down makes it much more difficult. If you are out of the way of the charge and can line up a good shot it's not bad

5 none that i'm aware of

Juggling in TF2 is harder than it is in games like Quake or UT, for varying reasons. Weight is one factor, especially with heavies. Speed is another factor with scouts. Also, the rocket isn't as fast (or doesn't seem as fast) as it is in something like Quake.

I'm not really sure it's a must-have skill, as it is somewhat hard to predict and hard to set-up. I feel like as you get better with just general aiming of the rocket launcher, then your ability to hit players in the air (juggled or not) will increase.

If it's a lower health class, I will sometimes just take out the shotgun after a launch and spam them full of that as they fall to the ground. A good launching hit is probably going to do at least 90 damage, so a couple shotgun blasts should finish them off.

I don't play soldier much but from what I have played I have found that shooting at the area where they will be and having them actually get hit by the rocket shooting them into the air and then you pop a shot based on where they will land if that makes any sense.

I never manage to hit em in the air, so I just settle for shooting a rocket at where they land. I've been trying to get the reflex of switching to shotty while they're in the air, but I keep forgetting.

its easy just predict where they will go next then fire a rocket at the spot and they'll fly (especially pyros), then just fire the spot where they will land and tada juggling. Personally i really like juggling the heavy and the pyro because the pyro flies so high when juggled and the heavy doesn't fly high but its easy to predict where they will land.

Here is a video that contains some copybook juggling and some nice general soldier work.

Wow Haydos, that video is amazing.

I like to juggle, but I'm like the clown that juggles and has the bowling pin hit him on the head. I sometimes juggle someone and lose track of where i sent him, then he kills me from behind.

I do the same as you pylb, always forget to switch to shotty while they're airborne and end up shooting a rocket at where they're landing
